Most were a wall of some sort then brush on top. That is when the Allies made those blades on the front of tanks so they could cut through. The footage I've seen when a tank rolls through one, the baldes cut the brush while the tank rolls over the dirt wall. The dirt wall could be anywhere from 1 foot to 3 feet. Watch this www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2BL8y6VDngshows a lot of footage on one man foxholes right next to dirt walled hedgegrows.

haha sweet... OK i got some good news!!! I found out how to make a cheap/ mediocre looking Hedgerow... though it wont be big enough for about 3-4 years. But in that time it would be HUGE. Its also very close to what they were. Im not going to bore you with all the mumbo jumbo of the plants and what not. but it would be next to free... because these plants spread like wild fire! And it just so happens my mom has 100's of the.... i mean she has ALOT!! because about 20 per each plant come up each year... and they get to be over six feet tall. Throw in a low wall, or ditch and some other plants.. and you got yourself a hedgerow in a couple years. The only thing needed is an open field. -Cary

After having read this thread, something has become clear to me. I think that having a second or even third field would be a great asset. We simply need to find the land somewhere. Although Capt. Zak's Indiana field is in the works, we should still try to find some private land somewhere in the Chicagoland area. The more places we have to play at, the more smaller skirmishes and battles we can have locally. If we meet more often, we will not only improve our skills, but also attract more players from the area. It seems that Tommygunner may be working on a new field, but we will have to wait and see. I also know that there will be one in Wisconsin. If we can get the land locally, it also seems that many of us are more than willing to put the work in to create a great little town, etc. This is half the battle. Just my thoughts...

Yes, we deffinatly do need to pitchin and find a field. A field w/ a littl forest and mostly open prairie is probably the best bet. Maybe also down in the Kankakee area, and south more ( lands ALOT cheaper down there) -Cary

I think a town would be so cool because there are plenty of opportunities for snipers as well as infantry. Plus the final battle in SPR was just so cool, and to do something like that would be awesome!!!!
