Since losing the Rockford field and fearing the loss of the Gurnee field, I have taken it upon myself to find an alternative field for future WW2AA events.
My future brother-in-law has 15 acres of land in Westville, IN. Westville is located about 45 minutes east of Chicago down I-90.
Holding WW2AA events on his property will allow us to have 1, 2 or 3 day events. We can camp, build permanant bunkers, & trenches for combat. And since this is his private property... we don't have to worry about things being trashed (like the Rockford field).
I am hoping to hold a November event in Westville, IN. I will keep you guys posted on the progress. My main question is for Krupp & the Rangers or anyone else driving a long distance. Are you guys willing to travel another 60 or 90 minutes for the sake of a multiple day event? I assume you guys don't have a problem with it but I want to be sure.
I don't want to depend on the paintball field any longer. Having our own field is the ideal way to go. And the best part...I won't have to wash paint off my uniform! ;D That is all.

Our own field would be great. Ideally the organization would grow large enough to someday buy our own parcel of land for play. That would resolve these where to play issues

I say we all go out there sometime in October, and build bunkers ect. so that we will have them in November.

Having trenches and bunkers would kick ass. That would really help bring guys out. I even designed a "Narmandy" type bunker fabricated out of huge blocks of foam. It's light as hell and looks JUST LIKE A CONCRETE BUNKER!

I dont know... I was thinking of buying my own island and putting up a few foam pill boxes:) and maybe the tank traps outa shipping tubes??? We can recreate Omaha beach!!!! haha, just kidding. Ur idea sounds very good and well thought out. How often would your brother in law be willing to let us go out there and play? I live in Indiana, so the drive is actually less for me:) Cheers

Basically when ever we wanted to. We would pay him the fee just we do now at the Gurnee field. Our events tend to be every 6 weeks during the cooler months. However, this September event is really not gaining any momentum. We only have 2 krauts confirmed.

I would like to say that just like to say that our October event is rapidly loosing steam just as our September event did. We need new blood. The moving of Gordak and all those who seemed to come directly through him is a major loss. However we have to persevere, find new people and gather those who are interested in WW2 Airsoft. Our best bet would be I think, paintball buddies and blank reenactors. Unfortunately, some people who will remain unnamed have been making things very difficult in the WWII reenactors forums lately due to the picking of fights. The last think we need right now is a d/ck measuring contest. We need to encourage growth not quash it. Until we do I can't see our events improving from the five guys who say they can go to every event but are dissapointed because no one else is interested. Especially on the Axis side we could use more people.

That would be great If you could get five people battle ready that could really make the weekend and help us grow. What kind of impressions would they be doing, and do they have everything they need, and if not what do they need. Let's make these guys want to comeback ;D

This is what you need to do. Three days before the event, get a large box, put yourself inside of it and mail yourself to one of our houses. It would be cheaper than plane fare :s
