I highly recommend for American troops the package deals at: www.whatpriceglory.comThey have everything from Basic Infantry to the Airborne during Market Garden. And if you don't like the raw package you can always customize it with other cool stuff. (i.e tents, extra uniforms, coats, socks, ect.,ect.)

This whole hobby is a bit expensive, you get what you pay for. Spearhead sells some horrible stuff. Those smocks make me wanna cry. Don't get me started on those tunics either.

Nimlas, OMG dude. This comes from the same guy that said my stuff from spearhead looked good.
For most WW2 airsoft its VERY good. I mean when other people have black BDUs and East German unifroms it looks very good.

I said SOME horrible stuff, so don't twist up my words homeboy. Ever seen a real or good quality smock? Even seen a good quality tunic? I'm speaking from experience here. I mean GOOD quality, like Janke. Spearhead's Peadot(yes dott44 and peadot are the same), THE DOT'S RUN THE WRONG WAY. They run east to west, they should run north to south. I've got to give these Asians credit(They aren't really from Singapore), they try to do things no one else does, it just needs a little work. It's getting better, give them a few years and they'll be putting out some good stuff.
/end rant Jack~

Spearheads tunics are wrong, but they are good for people with not much money. That makes it better for young people like me. I would suggest getting your stuff from capt. zak or atthefront who you know will have the best quality. I have to say though spearhead is getting better Their panzer and wool uniforms ain't that bad.

If people can't afford the right stuff, they shouldn't be getting into the hobby of reenacting. It's a tough job, but it makes it even harder when you are tempted with so much low quality stuff out there that goes for half the price. And it doesn't make it better for young people like you because that gives off the thought that little kids dont care and just want to play nazi for the day. Sorry if this comes off wrong, but why spend the money you earned on something "almost correct" when you can save money and get something that you know is correct and that won't fall apart?

Lets see, your 14 so you are still a "kid".
Also, for most of us its more about the airsoft part then the reenacting part.
And spearhead is not all that bad dude. Most people at WW2 style games dont know what is right and also dont care. As I said most ww2 style airsoft has a TON of people in East German unifroms. So most of us with the spearhead stuff are going over the top.
Spear head unifrom+other (repo) gear= $400
East German unifrom+other (non repo) gear= $100
Spearhead is not as good as ATF, but it gets the job done and in most cases go above and beyond MOST WW2 unifroms
I know all this is true in the south east.
This is all I'm trying to say.

I never said I wasn't young, but guess what. I don't get mommy to buy me all of my stuff and I still find a way to buy non Flaggrantly Wrong equipment. You yourself said you make over 4k a year so it shouldn't even be a problem for you, that is unless you were lying. And if it is mostly for airsoft and you don't care, you shouldn't be doing this either. Last thing anybody needs are uneducated nazis running around the airsoft field.

Those are exactly the kind of people I try to avoid, people who do not care about authenticity. Ever been on the Axis history forums? They look at airsoft as a joke, for just that reason. I'm not saying we all need to go out and buy Janke uniforms and original gear. We need to make an attempt to be 100% accurate. I beleive people should always be improving their kits, adding new and better peices here and there. Even ATF's uniforms have a few flaws, but they're definately not as noticeable. So what I'm saying is, spearhead is a GREAT start, but one should ALWAYS try to improve their kit.

I have a spearhead US M43 jacket, and I have never seen an original, does anybody know if the M43 is accurate enough or do I need a new one? I'm goin 100% this time through.

Nimlas, I do care. I'm talking about other people. The East German unifrom guys. I have plans this year to get a ATF unifrom. After I get the rest of my gear and a PGC gearbox for my MP40.
Right now it gets the job done. And looks 100 times better then East German (and smells better, ugg east german BO).

Although I've always received good service from Bill Bureau, consider buying a uniform other than a Janke, they are very expensive and are not worth the extra money. While undoubtably made out of the best wool of any repro being made today, that does not make up for poor tailoring; wrong chest pockets and a lack of chest darts are just two of the problems. In a cheap uniform, that is forgivable. Not at Janke's price, however.
Lostbattalions.com has better repro uniforms, probably the best available stateside.
Hessenantique sells the Sturm product, which is OK but like Janke has some tailoring issues (skirt way too long, not angled from front to back, straight sleeves, etc.). None the less, Sturm is nice, for the price. AtTheFront used to sell Sturm uniforms, or did last I checked, however I understand they now source their own straight from the far east (where Sturm ones are made, also). Mr. Curtis (at A.T.F.) will be only to happy to elucidate why that's not a handicap.
Just some food for thought.

does anybody have first hand experience with IMA? I am contemplating making a wide purchase from them and before investing $200+ I want to know they are reliable. Their ebay store has good feedback but they only have like 40 sales.

I bought some actual Grease gun mags from them for use in my Grease gun AEG and also got some assorted pouches and incidental items. Everything came as described and quickly. (perhaps a 120.00 order with lots of various items.)
