My opinion as a mod is it is over with and it makes no sense to drag it back to the top sorry you disagree. And now we continue to drag it to the top.

who cares about the date it is still a vaild topic. only ones for immpreassions like jump wings. A valid topic you couldn't provide a coherent answer for... This should have died a long time ago but, if you didn't earn it, don't wear it! Simple, right? |

I was at RECONDO school this past weekend and many of the young men wore CIBs and jump wings on their ERTLS and OG uniforms and while they looked appropriate and set off the uniforms well it was awkward since we had a number of highly decorated Vietnam vets at the event. I was curious to see how they'd react. SSGT Cal Rollins a SOG veteran commented that several of the young men upon meeting him asked outright if he was offended by that and offered to remove them immediately if he was. He was flattered that they showed that level of respect and made the offer and of course expressed that he was okay with it. I'm truthfully not sure about his response had a couple of them not made the comment and offer.
He is of course just one guy and how people feel will vary from person to person. The veterans had a great time at the event and loved what we were doing. They were somwhat hesitant to warm up initially but once they saw the dedication and sincerety of the participants they really opened up. It was great having them there.
