I'm doing alot of the Garand conversions now using the AGM/UTG variants. I have been selling them at a rate of about 3 a month for $560.00 plus shipping. Fully finished with every conversion step done and includes a shortened clip (with instructions to make more) and a WW2 OD web sling, cleaning rod and owners manual for the now converted Garand.
The Marui varaition is still $750 ($700.00 for WW2 airsoft forum members) I am no longer selling the conversion kits. Only finished guns. I am going to build 24 more of them.

how would you converte it into a BAR The M-14 Chinese knock off has a longer barrel and shoots quite a bit harder in stock format. 330 FPS versus 270 to 280. Very appropriate of course for a rifle versus a sub machine gun. The MP-40 is already period correct and looks feels and shoots great. (I have two) The M-14 would require the conversion to a Garand or whatever other conversions might be in the works for the M-14. I've thus far had almost 20 of the M-14s and with just a few exceptions have been delighted with them. I would guess that they are equally as reliable and quantumly better then anything made by TOP when it comes to reliability. If you're going for a Axis impression get the MP-40, if you're going for a US or German go for the M-14 which can serve reasonably acceptably for a Garand, BAR or Gewer 43.

nichollasm, I think the point that 2nd Bat is making is that the M14 looks similiar to WWII period weapons. It would be reasonable to allow it to be used in WWII airsoft in semi auto as a 'stand in' Garand or G43. Full auto on a bipod as a BAR. Would be cool to have a conversion kit to take an M14 to a BAR though 'shokt

I have been tackling the BAR conversion from a M-14 and running into the usual dead ends. My fear is of course about the time I have a reasonably close conversion tooled and set up the Inokatsu and VFC version will be out and copied inexpensively by the Chinese.

I say build a BAR anyway, even if someone came out with a cheap ($300-$400ish) M1919A4 Ill still continuee with my efforts on it. Besides when everyone says yeah I just got my BAR in the Mail today you can say, well I just finished building my BAR! and works even better than the stock Inokatsu or VFC.

I think the new price model for the Chinese will be crew served weapons is the 500 to 600 range and individual weapons under 180.00.

There is at least one reported AEG BAR in existance. Fellow out of I believe Arizona posted his custom BAR here sometime back. His father owned a machine shop and he use it to fabricate the gun.

That was brilliantly done and looked awesome. Poor guy was in Arizona with no other WW2 airsofters to fully appreciate his artistry.

Well my Garand has now hit the shores of good old blighty and I'll be picking it up tomorrow =)
As for a BAR, well Warren at Shoot n Scoot has been working on a conversion of the M14 but hasn't finished yet. My personal opinion is that the TM M14 is such a superb AEG that I'd be sorely tempted by a conversion over a stock BAR AEG.
