Hi all, I found a marushin mp40 for $398 and I want to know Deal or no Deal? It fires blank rounds so I can use it for reenacting and hopefully airsoft!!! please let me know so that I may save up for such a purchase.

It's not useful for either. Save your money and get a real airsoft gun, that isn't a Panzershreck.

What would be a good $300-400 dollar blank gun?

A real steel K98. Unless your 18 they're gonna make you a Medic or number 2 machine gun.

Don't get a blank gun, get a real gun, but use blanks. I think real guns are cheaper also. You could probably find a kar 98K for $250 maybe less.

look around www.gunbroker.com - Search under K98, or Mauser, there are alot of guns that you could get for a rather cheap price.

www.southernohiogun.comwww.aimsurplus.comwww.interordnance.comand try the forums on www.surplusrifle.comI've gotten great Kar 98k's from SOG and AIM always has nice stuff. The websites don't have all their guns, just a sample, so you'll have to call to see what's in stock. The members of SurplusRifle.com are great and there is always stuff for sale in the forums. Also, check the links section on SurplusRifle.com. There are many other websites that sell surplus rifles, those are just a few that I trust.

Hi SS Shutz, Ben Bernard here. Well, take it from me; I bought the Marushin MP40; the one made in 1978. I'm a reenactor too, and bought it strictly for that reason. Unfortunately, the Marushin only shoots what's known as PFC Caps. Keep in mind, that the Marushin that I own is the only one that'll even think about accepting conventional blanks, and it won't even do that. The new Marushins don't. Ya' see, the Marushins are made outta' Zink, not Steel and Metal, like the real ones, so the minute that a fully automatic clip is shot, the fire from the blanks could actually melt the gun's internals. I'd be realllllllyyyy careful with this idea. I paid over $1200.00 dollars for my Marushin MP40 about 3 months ago, and because of it not being able to accept a conventional blank, I was really disappointed. I'm currently tryin' to sell mine. I'm askin' about $1000.00 for it (or best offer). Good luck bro!--Ben
