You should get a thompson because its a reliable gun.Its good for clearing areas and nasty weather conditions. If you prefer the gangster thompson then always use the drum magazine. The gun has freakin foregrip how cool is that.Anyways most people prefer the military kind.Although bulky with drum magazine you can always use a stick magazine. It might have a heavy recoil it will get you where you need to be and it will give you the fire power you need.Trust my brother owns an airsoft company that makes them.

Um, ok. I assume you're talking about an AEG as it's "good for clearing areas", in that case, there are no drum magazines for it that are commercially available. Also an M1A1 cannot even take a drum mag, only 1928's could. Furthermore this is airsoft, what kind of recoil are you talking about? We shoot freakin' plastic pellets propelled by air. Oh and Tokyo Ma RUI only makes the M1A1 not the 1928, but apparently your brother owns Tokyo Mauri: Courtesy Wikipedia.com Please cut the BS and keep this forum clean. Thanks.

whats the difference b/t a gas and electric powered gun?? firing rates??

No, one takes gas and the other runs off the power of a battery. i.e.- Gas guns use the gas that you charge the gun/magazine with to propel the BB where as an electric gun uses a battery to run a motor, that turns some gears, that pump a reservoir with air, which is used to propel the BB. Thats the simple way of saying it, I know there are a couple hundred airsoft tech-savvy people here that can explain it in a more detailed way.
Anyways, I own a Marui M1A1 Thompson and I'm lost by this thread. Whats the purpose of promoting a gun with false information? =P

Well gas is a little more picky as electric is not but yet they still balance out.... If its too cold out then Gas wont work, if its raining heavily out electric wont work (after awhile). The gas does give you some distance and power depending on what kind you use. Whilest the Electric guns can be upgraded with gears and such. But Gas is a little more Expensive than a night of charging a battery.
