SRC weapons aren't exactly what you could call "reliable" but hopefully if they do make an MP-40 it will be compaitable with TM type parts. So far there is not much evidence suggesting that the project even exists.

It's supposed to be out in December, according to what I read on Arnies.

I dont think its going to look as good as a TOP. It will be good to get more "new" WW2 german players.

it may not look as good but I think it will out perform the TOP. Also being on the cheaper side you could replace the mechbox and anything and still be under the price of the TOP.

It'll work better then the TOP is like saying "for a fat girl she doesn't sweat much." Not a very encouraging thought!

well never the less for us with only a k98 a cheap mp 40 wont be a bad addition but if the rumors of a tm MP40 are all true well then marui will conquer the searous WWII airsofters

Thats funny. TM is would never make a ww2 gun. Unless its still used today (1911).

Thats funny. TM is would never make a ww2 gun. Unless its still used today (1911). They make a Thompson don't they? They make a spring P38 don't they? I think it's a bit extreme to say they will NEVER make a WWII Era gun. They'll make anything if the demand is high enough. Although, they did make that fugly Japanese Type 89 rifle, why couldn't they have made me a BAR instead!?!?!? Why?!?!?

haha yes, i agree, i would love a tokyo marui BAR, lets all write letters next week to Marui and and if they all get them at the same time, the demand will be insane, so they will make one, its all coming together now, muahahahah ;D ;D ;D ;D

Its very unlikely for them to make a german gun. Besides the p38 springer.

Why would it be unlikely? There's no reason why they wouldn't.

Marui only cares about Japan. So if no one wants it in japan they will not make it.
They made the Thompson after the movie Saving Private Ryan. So unless Japan falls in love the the MP40 or MG42 or what have you. They most likely will not make it.
The marui P-38 is all most as old as marui. It was made when is was called Marui not Tokyo Marui. Most people it seams in Asia who are into german stuff collect model guns, not airsoft. This may be why they made the P-38. But still make it because little kids think its cool.
Thats just what I think.

Yes that is true. But we get Marui parts from Hong Kong. Marui dose not care about the US. Most of there business is in japan. Trade mark laws have stoped any thought about geting some kinda whole seller over here.
Like how CA has Spartan Imports. And ICS has Team SD. Well unless Tokyo Marui can get trades over here they will never give a applesauce about us or set up a whole seller. Its all about colt and a few others leting them have trades in the USA.

oh that really sucks, how is it hurting really anyone? Well maybe in the future, they will be able to sell over here, or maybe a new company will arise selling awesome ww2 guns that are reliable and at a great price! by then ill be with the marines and shooting off real firearms, but wat the hell, when i retire i could get something

It be nice if SRC had a website to confirm the reports, even if the text isn't in english a picture is worth a 1,000 words.

Doesn't SRC base most of their AEG's on TM? Or did they figure a way to shoehorn a non TOP mech box in there?

Post by nater on Dec 3, 2006 23:55:57 GMT -5
good point, src hasnt shown themselves to be very original with their guns so far. unless they decide to fit a "marui" type mechbox in an mp40, the only AEG to copy would be the TOP.(that is, if you can classify the TOP as an AEG...lol)

their new guns like the XM8 and the AK's have actually been pretty good, as were the later m4 models. If this mp40 is ever actually made, it'd be a boost for the ww2 airsofting world.

yeah i woldnt call it reliable so fast, but cheap! its supposed to be very affordable -Gordak When you say affordable do you mean less than the TOP model? The only airsoft gun i own (much to my embarrassment) is some crappy 20$ Spring action MP 40 and it just doesn't feel much like a SMG when you have to cock it with each shot lol. i plan on getting more, and this one has caught my eye....

Okay I'm going to start a storm here but would love to be proved wrong. So go ahead guys. However after a couple of hours and numerous emails trying to scope out the S-3 arms/SRC MP40 here is my opinion:
It ain't gonna happen, and I think it was a scam.
Here's why- 1. Airsoftforce.com is the originator and the only thing on their website for sale is the MP40. They are actually taking orders for it without the statement that it is not actually in production right now. All other web references ultimately point to them. No other supplier from Hong Kong has heard of these guys. I feel sorry for Repairsoft.co.uk who seem to have been the US and UK supplier-at least their website says it may not ever come. 2. There is no such supplier as S-3 arms. They have no website or brandname, they may be another name for SRC but SRC does not produce a version 3 gearbox that just happens to look like a PGC gearbox. SRC has produced TM clone gearboxes why would they produce a PGC gearbox that is a one off fix for a TOP system? So perhaps the SRC and S-3 connection got confused or something. 3. All the pics look like an upgraded TOP with PGC box in it. The movie on the website could just as easily be an upgraded TOP with PGC box in it. He just takes it apart and puts it together again.
Now the only thing that makes me doubt myself is the fire selector on the left side of the prototype. I have a TOP MP40 (how do I know its a TOP cause it went tits up immediately-threw the anti reverse lever out the bottom of the gearbox) but I have not upgraded to a PGC yet, so don't know if there is a fire select lever that goes with that upgrade.
So let me know what you think. Should I wait for a cheap PGC replacement gearbox or hang it on the wall?
Troy
