Does anyone know how good this .45 is from Shortyusa.com? Seems pretty sweet from what i've heard.

It's a five star gun! I own one and I have to say it's the perfect cheap pistol, I use it for most of my airsoft needs. Cheap and reliable. Just get the black one though.

Only gripe I have with it is the design isn't as easy to cock back as it should be, but that just means theres more power for you

Best pistol Ive ever owned, so reliable that i never bought a gas M1911, and just as accurate as a rifle, (no joke)

Very good pistol, Its an exact clone of the springer marui without the higher price..the only thing it doesnt have is the colt markings..the uhc is kind of plain without markings but an exact copy of the marui springer the mags are even interchangeable..save your money by this if you need a pistol for your belt and get a good aeg with the rest of your money..believe me this is a great pistol..youcany go wrong plus its strong and accurate....

might as well ask while were on the subject of 1911 what about the KSC Colt M1911A1. Found one with a metal slide was wondering about the quality though

I have never handled a KSC 1911, but I have a WE 1911, it's cheaper than a KSC, but I can guarantee you, it's GREAT. The blowback and sound is insane, and the gun is crazy accurate right out the box. Evike has them, full metal and 2 magazines for $100 shipped.

seen those, but have heard of A LOT of internal problems with numerous owners. I was going to purchase one as well as it looked like a good deal, but apparently the internals cant handle the metal slide. how long you had it?

I have had it for quite a while, probably since march? Used it in MULTIPLE games with NO problems. The one evike has is apparently a newer version with those problems fixed, so I think you are safe to turn to the WE. I guarantee, you will fall in love with it the moment you fire the sweet thing. ;D

hmm...i'll look into it some more than. Some reviews on Arnie's are actually saying great things so i seem to be finding both extremes hate it and love it. It is a great deal so i may just take the dive.
Do you use green gas or 134a with it? I'm assuming the metal slide needs green gas to fully blowback.

Yes, use green gas, 134a is not powerful enough for it to be used at its full potential.

2nd interrogation question... any serious "cool down issues" with it? or inconsistent blowback? those are the only other negatives i've heard about this gun. Other than some folks that were disappointed it didnt have any rails

The blowback is wonderful on it, no problems there. The only minor thing is that you can not rapidly fire the 1911 (like 3 rounds a second kind of rapid) or else it will expell all of the gas in the magazine. And the mags do get very cold, but I found a way around it. Buy 3 magazines, and have 2 in the pouch and 1 in the gun at all times, by the time you go around once, the magazines will be normal temp. again and you will be good to go!
