Hey, I am new to WWII airsofting and have been looking for some info on the tanaka trench gun. I have two tanaka guns (P08 luger and Colt single action army) and love the good quality but am unsure of the reliability of the Trench gun. Anyone have one? Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

I have Trench for app.twp months. It is beautiful...as wall hanger till now and paper box shooting. I did not have a chance to skirmish it, hopefully next next weekend.
I shot a lot of shells, I have 32 and all of them went through several times, but just in home. The sound is great and if you reload quickly, no jams...but...
The shells are paint, not just you have to pick them up after each shot, but in fact they are from three main parts - plastic main body, rubber sealing and plastic cap...problem is that usually after shot and when reloading the shell get apart...so you have to find shell, that little rubber sealing and little green plastic cap. I was told that it is possible to glue all these three parts together and also a little bit sand down the inner side of rubber sealing. But I haven´t have a time yet to do that so I can not give result.
If I were you and this should be my main WWII gun, I would not recommend it. Buy the 2ndBat´s AEG Garand.

Well I also have a TM Thompson, AGM MP40, and tanaka luger so I am good on a primary. I have never played an all WWII game before but I have been playing milsim airsoft for over a year with the guys on neasg, njaoc, airsoftnj, and wrightstownairsoft. How is the spread on the trench gun , and are you saying the shells fall apart when you shoot them? Anyway thanks for the info!

Oh, I see...if you have another guns than it is a nice piece for collection.
If I would have a camera, I would make a picture, but I don´t have...Yeah shells fall apart into three piece, but if you find all the three parts, you can assemble it together again with no troubles. That´s the reason why to glue them together, after that, it will be good close range gun, except shell cathing PT ;D .
The range is a bit shorter than standard TM AEG, but this is shotgun. Spread on 3metres is app. in a circle of 2 - 3 inches from middle one BB hit.
I have tried to load app.20-30BBs to the barrel and shot. POwer of weaker AEG gone, but the spread for room 5 x 5 x 5 metres was enough, BBs were flying everywhere, if there would be anybody, he has no place to hide.
