Why would you want one. Weren't they like civil models after WWII because people didn't want a big bulky m1 garand? It was never used in the war to my knowledge.

An MP5 with a box mag will give you manueverability AND forepower! Why bother concerning yourself with authenticity when you can so easily attain that competitive edge. Hooah RAMBO go for it!
I had a customer insist on doing a Tanker version inspite of my protests and he did a great job on it. For the life of me I couldn't understand why he'd want to. Turns out he built it for his 12 year old son and in retrospect that kind of made sense. It looks somhow more appropriate and to scale in that case and while still not something I would encourage I must say it looks better then an M4 wrapped in burlap or a regular unmodified M-14.

these rifles are especially irksome to me because they're the only damn marushin garands anybody still has in stock.

Flaggrantly Wrong means something that kind of, sorta, looks mabye ok.......at 200 yards.
Basicly it means unhistorical crap. For example using American modern jungle boots for a D-day infantryman. Or, to use an example from the thread, using rail mounts on your MP40. Or a shortened M1 Garand.

I'd like to add it irritates some people as it is used quite liberally as a crude insult slung at anyone people feel better than. It's just not very friendly. Of course some people will not let people be thier friends no matter what and just beg for you to call them a FARB. I think everyone has at some point in collecting or reenacting or doing airsoft tacticals worn or bought something that just ain't right. It is those that are unwilling to realize the error and try to correct it that deserve the title I think. I still have some total bullapplesauce e articles on my impressions they are just place holders while I look for good deals on the right stuff. I think that is the key.

The Garand Tanker from Marushin has been a dismal failure as far as sales go for Marushin. That's why you see them in stock at various outlets. They were not well received on the real steel variant either. They work the same as the long version with only moderate reduction in power and accuracy. Neither is effective as a skirmish airsoft rifle in my opinion due to their inconsistent operation, difficulty loading (8 round clips) and limited capacity on a single charge of gas. (40 to 50 rounds)

1. you guys have to read som more!!! the Tankn garadn= a garand ment for tank crou (small plases) It is just as lang as a carbine and as fare as i have read it is only one made and it is in a museum, the tank garand wasn't a hitt becaus it didn't work as well as it should becaus it was shortend, so the tank garand never was in servis.
2. generaly the garand dos not work well, there are a lot of truble with it, I dont own one but know people that do, and they have the tommy ready for when the garand fails. so I would waite for the garand to come in a AEG form would be the best, then you could use it in the winter to

1.you guys gottsta learn how's to to right more good.(see its not easy to read when somebodies writing is nearly unreadable)
2. the tanker garand design was actually a clever marketing tool for selling shortened garands, that part about how it was made for small spaces like a tank was the way they were advertiesed. shortening a gun doesnt automatically "not make it work as well" it just makes it a less accurate rifle, m4's dont function any worse or any better than m16a2's, they're just less accurate. From the get go the garand wasn't designed for tanks mainly because they had more compact, more practical, and many times cheaper weapons for use in tanks such as the thompson, M3, and .45. If there really is a tanker garand in a museum I would truly love to see it, I dont mind being proven wrong as long as the other person is right.
3. A real steel garands a good functioning gun, the marushin....eh,not so much. Also there are indeed AEG garands made, I own one.
