I was wondering if anyone has seen the HFC C96? Full Metal, and a gas rifle... 140 dollars. Obviously it will need upgrading, but I am just wondering what everyone thinks bout it. here is a link to it ... www.airsplat.com/Items/GR-HGBB-196LW.htm

I'm pretty sure there are a few threads on this already. Try doing a search.
By the way, the HFC C96 carbine isn't WWII correct at all. If you're trying to use it for a WWII impression, I'd try to get something else.

Well since your looking at an Axis weapon I would surmize that you are going to be a German? If this is the case I would purchase the AGM Mp-40 for $20 cheaper instead of the C-96.

Well you could do a search on this, but I'll tell you anyways. That rifle isn't even from the ww2 era, it's no better than carrying around an m16 into a field (IMO). It's from the 80's if I am not mistaken, plus, the mp40 is only $100-$120 now, so there really isn't an excuse for having a Flaggrantly Wrong weapon now.

I have done research on the C-96 rifle and found this: The 1896 Broomhandle Mauser DID have a full sized rifle version made but it was not produced in great numbers and there is very little known about the weapon other than a few vintage photographs from the early 1900's. Mauser record are all gone from that era so it is possible that any Broomhandle Mauser rifle was actually either a prototype or custom gun. The MP40 is the best bet but if you love the 1896, you could buy a wooden stock holster and use the standard Broomhandle pistol. Those WERE used in small numbers in WW2. As far as your upgrade question..... The HFC Mauser DOES NOT need upgrading as it shoots HOT right out of the box (420 fps on green gas). Red gas puts it up around 550 fps. Beware.
