Well when I saw the MP40 GBB for sale on WGC,nothing could stop how fast I placed the order for the gun and some 8mm BB's it came from WGC in 4 days to connecticut, which I must say is very good service as always My first impressions were, damn ABS....then I picked it up and was surprised to see it is quite heavy, close to the weight of a real FA mp40 I held once I loaded her up with some 134 gas and 32 rounds and went to fire and....disaster the gun sticks on full auto and the gas goes all over the place I am thinking what the hell? so I take a step back and look over it the entire receiver tube and mag well area have white grease in them, and it looks to be screwing with the operation somewhat I cleaned it out a bit and sprayed silicone oil inside, and on the bolt assembly too I then proceeded to fire an entire magazine with a huge grin on my face I will introduce you guys to the cardboard shredder

now, back to the firing....it has quite a bit of recoil for an airsoft gun,and yes I am guilty I loaded a few mags with green gas and it really was kicking good then, hopefully somebody figures out what needs to be upgraded to fire green gas all the time as the recoil is very nice in terms of power, well my friend shot his brother in the back from a few rooms over and it left a quarter size welt thats my chrono for now heh I will play with the hop up more in the future, but for the price I say its a great buy and should be a very good weapon in airsoft combat, probally with a few touches from some of the experts to make it fire green gas and the like overall I am very happy with it Pros: Gas blowback full auto! heavy weight metal parts Cons: Plastic ABS everywhere Gas system can be a bit tricky Magazines cost more than a small car overall I give it a 7 out of a 10,and a great job marushin! more pictures

Great review, only problem with the gun is share mags can be $70 each. $70 for only 32 shoots? No thanks.

Nicely done review. Sounds like a lot of fun to shoot. But is it skirmishable? or will the cost of magazines and 8mm BB's on full auto + the inconsistency of gas make this a fun backyard plinker only? How much did you get it for?

Schmitty it should be,just need to adjust the hop up,and remember here in Connecticut its winter,so that maybe another big issue why I am having alot of problems with the gas

I shot it this summer when it was nice and warm, and boy does this thing pack a punch. I would skirmish with it for sure, but the magazine price issue does suck alot thats for sure, but what about airsoft is cheap?

Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket upgrade parts out there for this gun yet?

Hello, i'm a french user of MP40 GBB I was searching for cheat to increase accuracy on the web and i found this page. You sum up the MP40 very well. So fun to fire with but expencieve to use in skirmish (because of mag + gas + bbs 8mm) and not enaf range against AEG. Have you ever look inside the outer barrel to see wath we have here? You will be very surprised, the barrel is not right, there is a bend on the first half of the inner barrel (just after the hop up chamber), and the, after this bend, you have a second ho up (fixed). We think it is for reduce the power, but now the range is a bit short Today i think it might be possible to adapte a garand (marushin) barrel, but with a little modification, then the barrel will be right to the end, so the range must be very better! and the hop up will be usable. What do you think about that?

Something worth looking into. Hoever, I don't think Marushin 8mm barrels are that easy to find for parts.

I have find only one barrel for M1 garand by Tanio Koba, it is very closed to the barrel of MP40 but need a modification to work.

Very nice find, didn't know that was available. there is a twisted barrel for the m1 tanker version that may be better suited. Will have to have a closer look at my MP40. (needs a cleaning anyways)
