i know that there is another rewiew on this gun,but Gryphons PPsh project generated so much intrest so i think that the gun deserves another one.Soo here goes.
The first impression was that it was heavier and cooler to the touch than i expected from a plastic (well, fiberglass) gun, wich came as a pleasant surprise..It feels completly ridgid when handling it and theres no creaking or anything..
Im guessing that the fact that the gun is constructed around the stock is whats makes it so solid..
The barrelshroud and upperreciever is bolted and pinned to the wodden stock..Its easy to remove if there should be a need for it..Unscrew the bolts and just tap out the pin and just slide the reciver forward..
The mag is a 200 rounds hi-cap and its not detachable. The Hi-cap winder is on the bottom of the mag and its a little finnicky working it,instead of pulling the wheel you have to push it away from you making it somewhat awkward..No biggie but anyways..
and the mag being non detachable makes it somewhat cumbersome to pack in
a standard gunbag (well,you cant.)
The internals are a M-14 Mechbox (dont know whats the version is called) powered by a large type 8,4 battery delivering a good ROF..
Then to the shooting.Theres no fire selector, but its easy enough to squeze away single or double shoots.
I took it out for some propper range testing, hanging a tin can from a tree;and starting at 50 feet i got 2 out of 3 hits per burst
at 65 feet i got 1 out of 3 hits per burst
Then i picked a tree aprox one feet wide and tried to hit it from
80 feet and got 2 out of 3,
Then trying at 100 and 130 feet i could get random hits, but a lot of fliers;and i had to elevate the gun so i was moore or less using it mortar style..
So my conclusion is that its moore of a CQB,point and shoot type of gun,it feels really nice to shoot from the hip, and at 65-80 feet its deadly..Its not pin-point accurate but the PB are realtivly tightly grouped at that distance..
You wont have any advantages over players with stock Thompsons or MP40 but you will have something different owning this gun and in the end it comes down to the player not the gun.You just have to be more tactical and make more use of cover and the weaponry of your teammates..
I would strongly recomend buying this gun.Its well put together and looks and feels good and theres allways a pleasure owning something handmade..
