I think about 75% of the cast of Band of Brothers was english. The british actors played Winters, Harry Welsh, Liebgott, Johnny Martin, Hoobler, Blithe, Talbert, More, Moose Heileger, Lt. Meehan, Lt. Dike, Maj. Strayer, Sgt. Evans, Tipper, Gordon, Ranney, Popeye Wynn, Shifty Powers, Sgt. Grant, Petty, Plesha, Hall, Lorraine, Christiansen, Babe Heffron, Miller, Hashey, McLung, Janovic, O' Keefe, and more

well, when you think about it, it'll save a lot of money if you just hire local actors rather than having to fly a whole bunch of American actors and crew all the way to England. Why hire US actors when you can hire british actors who can play americans and are already based in england?

Lt. Lipton was on VH1 the other night on "Behind the Music: New Kids on the Block". Donnie Wahlberg was quite the bad boy back in the day.

well, as I said, he was quite the bad boy back in the day. There's footage of him at a new kids on the block concert where he tells somebody in the audience to kiss his ass

wow thats really cool. i bought the dvds about 3 years ago and still probably watch an eposide or two every week. Its absolutely amazint i think. i mean spr was great but in my opinion this movie has a much better feel to it. it seems more authentic to me because not many of the actors are well known exempting ron livingston. i think that the actor who played bull is on some new show with ron livingston, he also was in a few episodes of "over there" that miniseries on fx. they did a fantastic job on the whole and i watched the behind the scenes on it. OMG that city(s) would be the most amazing location for a ww2 airsoft game. (Man am i gonna dream about it tonight, i mean i can just picture gordak and the other guys running from carentan to bastogne.) aah enough of that. i have to stop now before i rant on for another few paragraphs

If I remember right, donnie also had a bit part in 'the sixth sense'

Donnie was almost unrecognizable in "The Sixth Sense", he was so skinny. Donnie and Neal Mcdonough (Buck Compton) worked together on the NBC show "Boomtown" a few years ago.

I just remembered a WW2 movie that got me interested in WW2 more so than a 15 year old (at the time i saw the movie) could have been.. I think it actually got me going on my path of being a true U.S. history buff. That movie was "the big red one" starring Lee Marvin and Luis Skullneck from "revenge of the nerds". It wasnt about paratroopers, or rangers. It was about the good old infantry, infact the "First Infantry Division" cool movie, even Mark hamill (Luke Skywalker) starred in that film. He even broke out his mad drawing skills. Man, just talking about it makes me want to see it again.

I'm just kinda wonderin why most of the british actors from BoB chose to cotinue their careers in england rather than try their luck in Hollywood. The actor that played Winters, Damien Lewis, did one hollywood movie after BoB, but now works exclusively at home in England

that seems kinda ungrateful don't you think, especially since without Dick Winters and other men like him he'd be speaking German right about now
