This movie is great it is very recent it has to be by the way it looks. Its about the bulge and abouth the pow massacar at malmedy and how some of them escape and try to make it back to their lines. Along the way they find a british pilot with the intelligence needed to drive the germans back. I won't tell you how it ends. Its ok not really great but not bad.

It is actually an awesome movie and don't worry I already screwed up and told people how it ends quite a while ago. Glad you enjoyed it though.

I actually love that video. It really shed some light on a rather dark issue during those times, and really captured the emotions.
It has it's share of inaccuracies, as all movies do, but they really kept it to a minimum. The Kar98 sounds awesome in this too. One of the very few movies which captures it's true 'bang' As a owner, that is a BIG selling point for me

This one sorta snuck through the theatres on me last year. I saw a Billboard for it over the summer and then never heard about it again until that other thread about it surfaced. I'll have to put it on my list the next time I go to Blockbuster.

They play this on the History Channel's "Reel vs. Real" once in a while. Too much of a morality play for me, I like a lot of action in my war movies.

i own it and thought it was a great movie. a little preachy but i didnt mind it. plus with my collection of war movies (B.O.B., spr, thin red line,we were soldiors, platoon, windtalkers, black hawk down, and an assortment of oldies) i have enough action already. Althought the fight scene in the church area was good esp. considering what they had to work with.

this movie is a good example of what can be done with a few actors and a limited budget....the whole scenes with the germans at the begining and the end could have been done in a weekend of shooting and then they could just concentrate on moving the main characters around the story.

The movie was filmed over the course of a snow winter in Utah 2005 I believe. The property master Ray Meldrum is an aquaintence and did all the webgear for the GI's for the movie. BTW, this was one of the best movies ever done considering that everyone outside of the main actors were in fact re-enactors. I own Peter Holden's jump boots and the grenades he had with him. Also, Dale Dye made a comment one time about it saying that he could have done better just by dumping the re-enactors and getting people who knew nothing about the military. But then I consider Dye a bafoon. Scout this movie is a good example of what can be done with a few actors and a limited budget....the whole scenes with the germans at the begining and the end could have been done in a weekend of shooting and then they could just concentrate on moving the main characters around the story.

I surely will! One thing I like about "Real to Reel" is the little backstage tidbits. Like in "Saints and Soldiers" the picture of his wife that the lead character carries with him is actually a picture of the real life actor's grandmother. Never seen it on the History Channel. Tell me the next time its on:) Scout They play this on the History Channel's "Reel vs. Real" once in a while. Too much of a morality play for me, I like a lot of action in my war movies.
