this is a new WW2 RTS, it's not exactly historical accurate, the Rangers look like something for the vietnam war. but its great fun, and has fantastic graphics(best in a RTS ever) seeing a arty barage is wonderfull. if you have a highspeed net i recommend you get the demo, its 1.7gig www.worthdownloading.com/download.php?gid=1255&id=8583the demo comes with a toturial, 2 campaign missions and a skirmish with full tech tree for both allied and axis

Got it on Thursday, bloody amazing game! I like being able to call in Arty on an Axis strongpoint and watch it cave in on them.

its fun, but not realistic Perhaps someone will mod it so two germans can just dash through your lines while hundreds of rifles and machine guns shoot them point blank. -Gordak

I tried the demo, I wanted to like the game but lost interest because I sucked at it and just can't get into RTS type games. I have a decent computer but had to keep the graphics settings turned way down for it to run smoothly. The innacuracy of my troops just made me frustrated and annoyed, They couldn't hit a barn door that was right in front of them.

I'm with Schmitty. RTS type games make me miss the turn-based strategy games of yore.

the close combat series was great, in its day, they should have made it like that.

The thing i don't like about Company of Heroes is that none of the men have a normal physique, that are all extremely muscular, which i don't think is right.

the close combat series was great, in its day, they should have made it like that. -Gordak To be fair, the close combat series are still great , lost count of the games I played against my brother, just annoyed that snipers were pretty useless, all they really did was fire, miss and then get the hell shot out of them

what! the snipers hare the single best anti inf unit. 2 snipers at a bottle-neck and the can take out many many squads of badguys. they are perfect to use early on when the enemy is trying to take points

no snipers on CLose Combat were rubbish, the snipers on COH are really good. On eniggle i have noticed is that if you put a sniper in a building he can be seen by anyone. But i do love sticking a .30 cal and a rifleman squad in a building and watch them tearing apart units.

I recently started playing Company of Hero’s. Yes, the units are not exactly accurate but the game is a heck of a lot of fun!!!
At first, I was annoyed at the AI and how quickly it was able to capture territory. But later I found out that the AI is almost incapable of holding territory. Sorry to resurrect this thread… but, yeah! Good game!

Very fun, but they need to make it for the mac, which I'm not sure that they have done or are going to do.

I have it and I'm on a macintosh. If you have any mac from the past year or so up to the present, you can install windows on it and play COH. My mac can run both OSX and Windows XP, and it's wonderful. I am able to do my art on this side, and go on windows for all my gaming needs.

Anyone try out the new Battle of the Bulge MOD for it? You can find a download for it on the relic news pro board forums, in the armory section; weapons range. It is fantastic! Real squad sizes and all. Realistic by far in comparision with the original game.
It is only for COH OF though. 2.301. A new patch is comming out for it as well.
