When are they going to add Italians and Americans? I remember talk about it like a year ago. Although, I still remember when they added paratroopers, that rocked my world!

I was speaking to someone with the username Gordak a few weeks back, said they worked at the museum with you, and that they were Mauser43 on the forums.
I hope that the Italians make it in....or the Desert Rats...That would be a good Christmas present.

Actually a little known fact about Italians (I have to include my random facts ) is that they fought the French in veyr rough terrain. Not to get off topic, but here is some info from my friend Lupo Solitario! But I will see if I can find the renders of the Desert mod, they have been in production for a while and came up with some screen shtos of an Italian Bersaglieri officer and a tank.

no it is an MMRPG, so you do have to pay monthly, but there is like a 15 day free trial I think. I know once you play this game you will never want to stop. I heard they just added snipers. I just need a new comp, and then I am re-ordering this game, first thing!

You could run this game with a 3.1. It's been out for years and the reveiws have never been good. Sure, you have a number of people willing to put up with complicated controls for the sake of "realism", but if you are looking for an actual gaming experience that won't bore you to tears, buy Red Orchestra off Steam or at your local electronics store or wait for Forgotten Hope 2 to come out for BF2. Either of those games will provide a FAR greater online experience at no extra besides purchase cost (20 bucks for Red Orchestra and did I mention FH2 was FREE?! It's a mod for BF2 so check it out!).

If you want to fly, get Battlefield 2. First, you get a great game that incorporates some licensed modern weapons.
Second, you get Point of Existence (a free mod that HAS BEEN RELEASED) that introduces a modern Ukrainian-German conflict incorporating new maps, vehicles, and weapons as well as new damage models.
Finally, and most importantly, you get the mod Forgotten Hope (which will be free when it is released). For a teaser of what will be included, simply check out the update section on their website for renders and screenshots from the upcoming version, or check out the maps, weapons, and vehicles included in their total conversion for good ol' BF1942. If you want to fly planes, damn will you be satisfied. The 1942 version had a mission for the Bombing of the Reich that was exclusively air combat as well as an ammended Battle of Britian level and numerous Pacific combat missions. The aircraft included were amazing as well as diverse including multiple variations of the Stuka, P38, P47, Arado 234, Me163, Me262, FW190, JU52 (YES YOU CAN PLAY AS FJ WITH SPECIAL KITS), and many more. I can't say enough good things about this mod so you need to just go check it out for yourself. The flying is fantastic and yet is just only one facet of the game!

Uhh... Battlefeild and WW2ol are totally different games.
Battlefield is for 14 year olds who have no patience, and enjoy shooting people 12 times in the head just to injure them. It just lacks the physics of a serious simulation. Thats why I don't like it
ww2online is for adult military historians, who obsess over realism, insanely detailed armor penetration values, where you can actually aim for weak spots.
the down side of ww2ol is its very hard, and your going to die alot untill you learn how to survive.
WW2online is a real time 1/4th scale ww2. It has thousands of players battling it out on one huge map 24/7 dozens of aircraft types, TONS of armor and Guns. Naval warfare too! you really can't compare. I could go on and on about it. -Gordak

omg, there is no comparison between wwiiol and battlefield. WW2Ol is amazing, I remember when they added paratroopers...It made me cry becuase it was so fun! I think it is 1/2 scale of actual Europe, so think NO BOUNDARIES! It is the virtual ww2 battlefield without a doubt. There is no game that I could better reccomend.

I don't understand what you guys aren't getting about FH2???! I have repeatedly said that it is a TOTAL modification designed to enhance realism with new damage and ballistic models, weapons, uniforms, and vehicles. The only thing WWII online has on it is a persistent battle thing WHICH IS POORLY DEVELOPED AND OVERAGED. If you would like to see more about it, look at the IGN review which pretty much sums it up. YES, it does incorporate obnoxious snippets of realism, but when a tank has 10 gears, what is fun about that? If you want first person tank combat, check out Red Orchestra. But for a total gaming experience, you HAVE to look at forgotten hope. forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/index.php?flash=yesCan WWII online offer you the Panther Ausf. D, A, G and Jagdpanther? No. Can it offer multiple versions of the Sdkfz 251? No. The game is not only limited in scope (besides the battlefield size...) but also in intensity as well. The one time I played a year and a half ago, after a long time learning controls it took me over 20 minutes to find another friendly vehicle when I tried to reach a combat zone. Forgotten Hope offers a superior experience with a newer engine and more refined gameplay that in the upcoming form will put an emphasis on squad combat. You want to talk about armor penetration and damage models? Armor combat in FH is refined yet realistic enough to present a challenge that everyone can appreciate. What's more, weapons like the panzerfaust are given their full combat value and are huge assets in urban combat. Finally, there is NOT just one big map with everyone on it. No server has the capacity to do that so in fact there are multiple copies of Europe, spreading out the players over such a vast area that gameplay is slowed down and left to die in a ditch. Don't get me wrong, WWII online is an amazing project that definitely gets my praise. Soldner was a great project too, but I need a game that is fully developed and FUN to play. I can't just overcome the problems with WWII online because it is a good idea, the execution was too flawed to be repaired by simply patching the game constantly.

Yes they do, Get the free trial now! it will take some getting used to, but you will fall in love with it.I've noticed that it is very hard to gain rank in the navy, though. I'm a major in airforce, but only a private in the navy. I want a destroyer instead of my damned Ferrie! A freighter would be nice too.

Yes they do what? I really am not interested in a game so old that only offers a limited combat experience. The engine is rather poor quality and the number of vehicles is limited to a ridiculously low inventory.
This whole time I have been suggesting a viable and more modern alternative with more accessible game play (that I view as superior IMHO) and a wider variety of weapons and theaters. I know what WWII online is and honestly I am not impressed and wouldn't reccommend it for someone looking for good air combat as 9.SS Schutze requested. Download FRAPS and take an in game video of the air combat or better yet, simply look at WWII online's homepage videos, they speak to the deficiencies better than I can type out.

For air go out and buy IL2. WWIIOL>Battlefield ''Battlefield is for 14 year olds who have no patience, and enjoy shooting people 12 times in the head just to injure them. It just lacks the physics of a serious simulation. Thats why I don't like it" They are two totally different games, and I think neoptolemus is just mad that he can't get the hang of WWIIOL Gamers and historians don't mix..... If battlefields is your thing, thats cool, but this isnt a battlefield thread so.........

WW2OL sounds great- the fact that it's on such a HUGE scale... i'd like to see more games like that, but i can't handle the monthly fee... the whole idea sounds very immersive and fun, however. and to be fair, FH IS a good mod, but the gameplay style from what i can tell WW2OL is totally different in style than BF2 + mods.

ooh, I'm actually goignt o have to disagree with you on IL2, though very fun, I found it to be unrealistic. Target Tobruk is a fun game that is free, although their server just shut down. Aces High is fun too. Go Rooks! also, neoptolemus, my above post was at the same time as yours I wasn't responding to your post . That's cool if you like FH, I hear its a great game, that doesn't mean that wwiiol sucks. Yeah the graphics aren't the best, but I prefer better gameplay over better graphics any day.

www.wwiionline.com/scripts/wwiionline/be_info.jspWhat I like about CR is that they leave the decisions on the game to the players. EA if I remember correctly do whatever they feel and come out with expansions like they are candy. CR hosts polls, and if the players want to add or change somthing, it's done.
