Here's a 2004 German film that shows how the Nazis prepared young men with exceptional dna to become future leaders of The Party. The movie follows a handsome young man with boxing skills as he enters the Napola (academy) and begins the grueling officer's boot camp in 1942. We see the boys dropped off by their parents, the mental and physical training as well as a few students weeded out due to less than desirable issues (for example, a bed wetter). The boys learn about the K98 rifle, hand grenade, how to behave as an officer in the Reich and in one scene are forced to swim under a frozen lake (see pic). The cinematography is excellent as is the acting and music. This movie rivals ANYTHING that Hollywood has turned out in this genre and is based on the director's grandfather's personal experiences in a Napola. Highly recommended to members of this site.

it dosnt look that way drew, and come and see was made in the 80's so he may have aged a bit, but nothing is for certain.

To answer the above questions, the US release has subtitles and the audio is German only. That's not the same actor as Come And See. Thanks for the compliment dirtybrown66...We have a fantastic video store here in Tucson that carries movies from every country. For example, they have a new release wall with the latest American titles (like every video store), but there is also a German new release wall (as well as France, Spain,Italy,Poland etc). In fact, I usually check the foreign sections BEFORE I wander over and look at newest crapfests in the US section. The movies coming out of Germany that deal with WW2 events are getting better and better (The Ninth Day, Downfall, Napola). There is a new generation of young German filmmakers who are just overflowing with talent. I also watch all the regular WW2 movies as well, but prefer to review obscure stuff to hopefully get people to explore foreign/cult cinema that deserves a wider audience.

I want to thank Doom for posting on this film. I saw this while I was in Germany last spring and liked it alot. The acting is really top notch and very accurate. I would recommend it to everyone.
