Just picked up this 2006 PS2 game yesterday and thought I'd do a quick review. Basically this is a Call Of Duty type game but in Commandos, STEALTH can make your life easier than engaging the enemies. You CAN charge in and start blasting Nazis, but if you are sneaky, this game allows you to stab or use choke wire on them instead and never fire a shot. What really separates this from Call Of Duty/Medal Of Honor is the "strategy" involved in each mission. You can swim underwater, throw knives, change characters mid-battle and steal uniforms to impersonate enemy soldiers. As expected, there is a good amount of violence and language. There is profanity (not nearly as bad as Brothers In Arms) and the there is blood that "mists" out of soldiers when hit (along with horrid death screams!). The graphics are not as polished as Call Of Duty or M.O.H. but they get the job done. I went through 3 levels quickly and I am into it. I love the fact that you can use a Luger (sadly lacking from M.O.H. & C.O.D.) and the scoped rifle is a lot of fun (you have it in every level). The sounds are great and the story is fictional, so it entertains more than educates. Worth the 29 bucks I paid. Pick it up for something a little different from the normal FPS.
Yeah, it's a decent game. I've played every WW2 shooter there is and I'm a little bored with the genre now. Commandos is fun and tries to do something a little different (although it frustrated me a bit last night...)
hey i cant beat the level with the time you sneak around the whole city and you do stuff like you steal a truck and destroy a rail car then you go kill a general and i did everything and killed the general but then it locked me in this room and i dont know how to get out there was a open window but there was no way i could get out of it because there is no jump button. Have you beaten the level??
Dracul: It looks like it lost a lot of steam and I now feel bad for randomly dropping off.

stuka: I mean it's not your fault. It is interesting though that things are falling off as we are finally getting our ww2 guns with the type 38/96 and the enfield as well as it recieving a new loading system, it's kind of unfortunate

Dracul: I don't know, maybe its because all the guns are becoming available, there is a decreasing need for the forums.

Dracul: Most of the talk was about making guns, as all the uniform info was already out there, but now the weapons are out there and are usually decent quality.

stuka: well the forum is and should still be useful for updates on guns, creating groups/events and building kits

Cpl. Hicks: I haven't been here in years, but I'm glad to see this forum is still kicking! So much great info on here.

savoy6: anyone know if anyone still carries the enfield?

Dracul: I think Redwolf has a Enfield. If not or not longer, then not until G&G releases theirs. The old gas Iron Airsoft brand SMLE isn't carried by anyone anymore and was such piece of crap. Not worth trying to track one down.
