Not too many movies have been made about the Air Corps in WWII lately, it's all about infantry and paratroopers nowadays, but "Memphis Belle" I have to say has always been one of my favorites. If they re-made this movie today they could probably do wonders with computer graphics with the aerial battle scenes as the fying scenes in 1990 were all a mixture of real B-17s and small plastic models.

To my surprize there was 8 b17s and 8 p51s all lined up and painted the same on the runway!!
I couldnt belive how many planes they had, I thout for a moment this stuff wasnt that rare after all.... then someone told me they were filming a movie LOL
I did take pictures, Ill digatize them someday., -Gordak

Cool story Gordak. I also loved Memphis belle. It's not a true story at all but most of the things that happen did realy occur just not all to the same plane on one mission. I got to ride in a B-17 a couple years ago. It was expensive, but well worth it. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in WWII aviation.
