EA games just sponsored a reenactment that I was at this past weekend and they were promoting their new game MoH: Airborne. They set up computers and let people play it for free. I heard that it doesn't come out until Sept but I am not sure. I played it and I thought it was pretty cool and relatively realistic. Graphics were really nice, I particularly liked the lighting and shadows on the characters.
Anyone got anymore info on it?

They pushed the release date back from August 28th to September 4th to work on some issues that came up from the Multiplayer Summit a while back.
All in all, the game has massive potential and the whole "Airborne" aspect of the game doesn't look gimmicky or half-assed. The game really flows around that concept. I'm a big PC gamer, so naturally I'm excited to pick this one up soon, but the system requirements are pretty steep for older machines due to the newer Unreal III engine being utilized (and it looks stunning!).
EA's really promising that they'll be devoting a lot of time and energy to keeping this game fresh and exciting, and it looks like PC guys will have patches within the first few weeks of the game's release to correct problems that were unable to be fixed before launch. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be another MOH: PA.

I wish EA continued with the Passific assault, that series really has alot of potential, and honestly the whole ETO thing has been played out way too much. I personnally dont care how good this new game is, becuase it is yet another ETO game with the same thing you will find in every game before it.
Why not make a game featuring the CBI even, or hell the MTO. I mean EA didnt even scratch the surface of the PTO so come ome hell, they can make an entire game based ont eh Iwo Jima Campaign.
yeah it may not be perfect in that aspect but theres always ways around it plus this will be an entirely new game. ANY WAYS, that was offtopic i just want MOH airborne to come out so i can play a WWII game with really nice graphics, ive already beat cod2 numerous times.
I just hope it doesn't turn out to be another MOH: PA.[/quote]
I agree with TG on MOH: PA. I don't know why all you guys badmouth Pacific Assault, as it was one of the earliest FPSs that tried to enable a squad command system that didn't turn out too bad. It had an original story, kicked the crap outta Rising Sun, and had enormous replay value. Its a shame that an expansion pack never came out for it.

ive never really been a fan of MOH i hate consoles, PC all the way, the games are too much of being a movie hero and crushing the army by yourself and unlimited quantities of grenades ammo and of course health, but the graphics hopefully will save this one, and some modding.
edit, damn this game sucks, the sounds and feel of the guns suck, you have to kill like 1000 germans, and if you shot well you get an instant upgrade to your weapon, if you shoot well with the garand you suddely get a special barrel that make your weapon more accurate and you get it by magic, your gun just suddenly shoots better.
and if you shoot well with the thompson you suddenly get a vertical grip, like the one you find on a 1928 model

Where can I play this demo? Is it out on the xbox live market, or do I have to get off my ass and go to the store to purchase it? If it's that bad, I may wait for the xbox live demo to come out. If it costs more than free.50, I guess I will pass it up. Thats a shame, I thought it would be pretty fun. I did watch some guy playing it on G4TV, and he really sucked at it. He died from 2 misjumps, an mp40 while running out in the opening, falling off of a tower, and a sniper. He wasn't using common sense at all, so I was going to give it a chance.
Airborne is expected to become a heavily modded and customized game, as EA has expressed a desire to make the game extremely mod-friendly. The Unreal 3 engine is known for being easy to adapt, and after community dissatisfaction at the lack of support for Pacific Assault, the developers are looking to enable users of the game to create a wide variety of mods to suit their needs. An SDK/MDK will be released with the game, available as a download from EA's website. Additionally, tools will be provided to help export/import objects in various 3D editing programs.

I havent played it yet, though I believe it will be damned good, seeing as every time you drop its a different experience, and i believe this will be the first game i have played based on a unit that isnt hollywoodized. Also, being that it is an Abn game will be fun and it goes through the MTO. I played vanguard, and like that fact that you could play in Italy. It was kind of a downer with how they slacked off on uniform and gear details. I just also like the fact that you can control your drop. From my understanding with the weapons upgrades is you had to make them yourself before the drop, and you can also chose your weapon too then. So lets hope that the had the automatic upgrades for just the demo. -Cary
P.S. I LOVE Pacific Assualt!

well i played the demo today and... well like other MOH games i didnt like it and wasnt entertained, and the whole gun upgrades isnt cool, the sights for the guns are horrible, the M1 garand looks rediculious and the sights are totally made up. the grapics are good, game play isnt good, your life can regen... im gonna try modding it now, Kyle
what a silly game, i have completed it now. the only map i liked was the D-day one, it was the only that wasn't a urban map. there's only 6 missions and it takes about 2.5-3 hours to complete the game. that NOT alot. you also meet enemys that shot MG42 form the hip and can take 3 rifle granades in the face and still live, it take about 20 shots from a Garand to kill them, or 30 BAR shots
Dracul: It looks like it lost a lot of steam and I now feel bad for randomly dropping off.

stuka: I mean it's not your fault. It is interesting though that things are falling off as we are finally getting our ww2 guns with the type 38/96 and the enfield as well as it recieving a new loading system, it's kind of unfortunate

Dracul: I don't know, maybe its because all the guns are becoming available, there is a decreasing need for the forums.

Dracul: Most of the talk was about making guns, as all the uniform info was already out there, but now the weapons are out there and are usually decent quality.

stuka: well the forum is and should still be useful for updates on guns, creating groups/events and building kits

Cpl. Hicks: I haven't been here in years, but I'm glad to see this forum is still kicking! So much great info on here.

savoy6: anyone know if anyone still carries the enfield?
Jul 15, 2018 18:47:08 GMT -5
Dracul: I think Redwolf has a Enfield. If not or not longer, then not until G&G releases theirs. The old gas Iron Airsoft brand SMLE isn't carried by anyone anymore and was such piece of crap. Not worth trying to track one down.
