Ready for action, another custom M1919, This one is an AEG A6 version. It is built from a parts kit using a metal gearbox designed as an upgrade for a Star M249. Its most unique feature is that it holds its ammo internally and can accommodate a medium sized battery internally as well making it completely self contained, I also plan to make a ammo belt extension cord that will clip to the receiver and allow use of a larger battery stored in the ammo box. I believe the A6 version will be more practical for airsoft than the tripod mounted A4 simply because it's more portable, but this weapon is awkward to use (it's 5 feet long! and 25 lbs) and you have to go prone or be lower than the weapon (like in a trench or foxhole) to use it. It's easy to see why it wasn't a huge success in real life when compared with other WWII era MG's (Mg34, 42 etc.). The BB loading mechanism is my own design. It uses a modified RC servo to turn a servo horn that pushes BB's through a modified plumbing part into an AK hop up. A spring in between the gears allows the feeding mechanism to slip as necessary. The gun holds around 1000 BB's. The right side plate is home made from 1/8 aluminum, and has a cocking handle that can be pulled back and springs forward (although it serves no purpose). More details of internals: home.comcast.net/~milsom44/m1919top.JPGhome.comcast.net/~milsom44/m1919cutaway.JPGSince I play predominantly as German or British, I will very likely not be the one using this gun at local games, and I may be open to trades. Schmitty,
Jeez you are fast! It's looks stunning. I love that it is a completely self-contained system you have put together, very slick. You are a master builder.
and yes, you need to put all your custom jobs together in one place!

I knew if that project was going to end up as I envisioned it you would be the one to complete it. You have exceeded my expectations which were of course very high to begin with. WOW very cool indeed. Have you had a chance to chrono it for FPS and rate of fire?

Compared with some of the other customs I have done this was one of the easiest. I'm surprised no one asked about the smaller A4 on the desk with the A6. It is a 1/2 scale die cast replica I bought at an auction recently. It doesn't do anything but is quite heavy so could be deadly if thrown at an enemy AirsoftNY: I think that piece is a 3/8 90 degree elbow. I also used one on the MG-34. You have to flow a little solder into the inside corner to make the BB's flow smoothly (PM me if you need more info on it). Guinness is working on a customs web page. I put that Garand in the background because I knew Guinness would comment on it ;D Gordak is right, We need more of these out there. It's time for others to start building too! It is very fun to build custom weapons. I enjoy it as much as playing. Thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback. Schmitty

the advantage we have over the guys in HK, is we have cheap parts kits,
If a steel .30 AEG was made in HK it would be almost 3 grand. -Gordak

2nd bat: I used a Systema M-130 upgrade kit to fill the gearbox. It chronos at 450 fps with .20 ammo. Rate of fire varies with battery voltage. It's a realistic 500-600 rpm with a 7.2V but can take up to 12V for a blistering ROF.
When I mentioned the trade thing I really meant trade, I didn't mean I was in a hurry to get rid of it or sell it but there has been so much interest I am considering making more. So I have a couple questions....
Would people prefer A4's or A6's? Keep in mind it's easy to convert one to either spec but the A6 bipod can be hard to find.
What would be a fair price? There is about $1000-1200 in parts needed. I'm guessing the finished piece would be around $2000.... Still interested?
Not saying I'm definetly going to do this. Just a thought. I prefer the R&D of doing different weapons rather than producing a bunch of the same. I would gladly help anyone duplicate what I have already done in producing their own M1919. It wasn't that hard, just takes time and dedication.

While I know it's not your love (production rather then creation) with proper marketing I know you could sell a bunch of them and perhaps cracking out 3 to five at a time would make it less dreary. I would be happy to contact my good friend Andrew Ho at Airsoft Extreme. If sufficinetly impressed witht he quality (How could he not be?) I'm sure he'd be happy to handle them and promote on his site. He'd no doubt retail them for $2,700 or so given your wholesale cost of $2,000.00 I'll bet he could sell some and would love the attention and exclusivity.
