It will be neat to see it all set up with the scope once the customer receives it. In the course of doing these I am learning more and more about the multitude of assorted Springfield variations there were that were used in WW2. Four main variants with about four sperate varients for each. (At least sixteen combinations that were possible) Probably more as I learn more. It gets complicated.
Each stock I get is unique to the last. Stock bolts or no stock bolts, finger grooves, scant stocks, straight stocks, C stock and various iterations therein.

Sorry to bring this back, but, can we get the photos restored? This being the first springer Kar98, I feel, for historical significance, it should stay up here. Thanks.

An update on this thread which is now many many years old. Schmittys Kar 98 remains one of the best and most original custom bolt action rifles I've seen. Since this project dozens of our members have tackled custom bolt action rifles most following a fairly straight forward marriage of an actual Mauser, Springfield, Mosin Nagant or Enfields and a VSR base airsoft rifle. The most consistent base rifle (that is affordable) has been the JG Bar 10 which has the advantage of being a close enough clone to the Marui VSR-10 that all upgrade parts (of which there are many) can be installed as can replacement parts. The most vital upgrade part has proven to be the trigger box which notoriously fail (particularly if upgraded springs are used)
