So i got a good deal on a Tanaka Kar98 and now i want to put a scope on it for the full on sniper look and i want it to look historically correct so heres my problem..Wich way to go? You got the Tanaka ZF41 wich doesnt look a bit like the original ZF41 (looks a bit longer..) And it seems to me that even if it was qiute common it wasnt really a sniperscope.. And then theres Marushins ZF4 scopemount wich saw most use on the G43 and not on the Kar98 and doesent come with a scope so then i would have to use a modern scope anyway soo.. Am i missing anything or does anyone no of a manufacter who makes reproduction scopes and mounts..? Preferably a highturret mount. I would be grateful for any input or other options..  Tobbe |

I bought the Zf41 for the My Tanaka Kar98k, I cant say really I dont reccomend it. People told me not to get it as it wouldnt be effective and of course I didnt listen. I do recall one event I believe it was Anzio, I shot one through my scope that Hit a GI in the head, DEAD on to where I was aiming with it. So I cannot say entirely it is ineffective. I would just go with the Tanaka Scope if any. Just my personal expierience maybe someone will say otherwise, good luck soldat!

If memory serves me right there was a thread about using a turret mount on a tanaka, I think it might have been gordak who did it. Try using the search function for some of these different scopes, mabye you'll have a little more luck there.

Yes.. ive checked all treads concerning scopes on Kar98:s.. But before i start to search for expensive WW2 orginal scopes and mounts i thought i should check with the forum..(and its massive amount of airsoft knowhow)

Is it possible to still find a cheap scope for the Tanaka Kar98? Everyone is out of the ZF41s and all the real ones are ridiculously expensive!

For a Turret mount and scope your looking at 1500$...so I hope you can find something better because I'll be right in your footsteps if you do.

Thats actually a good price there (Nice find) considering originals are worth 900$+ without a scope.
While were on the topic of the turret style mounts, how do you get the scope on them? It looks like its just a solid ring.

I guess you have to dissasemble the scope and slide it into place? The glue or soldering?

Sorry to bring up this thread, but I plan to order some tower mounts and a original Zeiss scope for my Tanaka Kar98. I was wondering if anyone had any tips to give me. I remember a long time ago someone did this (Think it was Gordak), but that thread is long gone now. So if anyone else has done this to there rifle a little info would be nice.
