I saw the interesting Star wars fans ideas for blasters etc...so I kept looking and found plans to make the MG34. So I got some hardwood (pun not intended ), some drywall screws, black paint, 1" PVC and 1 1/4" Pvc connectors then made my evil creation...mwhahaha...sadly it does not fire but maybe in the future it will... ;D Reciever Stock gun 1 Gun 2 Barrel I just got to stain the stock, add some metal parts that are obviously missing, then start contemplating how to convert it. Cosmetically it may not be the pudy'est mg34 I've seen. But it sure is a great alternative to spending a good deal of dough on a parts kit.

People keep in mind, I have a zero skill level of craftmanship compared to some of whats been on the board. So those who are crafty take this into consideration! ;D

Thanks for the link! Your MG34 is looking good so far, here are a couple of ways to add polish. If you get yourself a nice rat-tail or half-round rasp and knock those corners down on the stock, then sand with 60 grit, then 100 grit, then 220 grit, this will go a looong way in improving the overall look. Give the stock a coat of sanding sealer, let it dry, then sand it smooth again (sealer usually lifts the grain of pine) before you stain. A simple pair of 1/4" thick slab grips with rounded outer edges and shallow grooves cut in with a fret saw or bandsaw would work wonders as well (if you use a bandsaw, cut the grooves in the block BEFORE you cut the 1/4" face and saw out the outline of the grip.) If there's a sewing center nearby, or a place that does custom embroidery, call them and see if you can score an empty machine embroidery or serger thread spool - the plastic ones are good and thick and make great MG flash hiders. Black or grey sheet foam is great for making fake belt links, contact cemented to dummy rounds.
