I want to do an early war marine load out with a Thompson and want to use the correct gun so I want a 1928 Thompson, but the only conversion kit I've seen to do this was at WGC and was sold out. Is there anyplace to get a conversion kit?
Thanks

the mosquito molds m1928 kit's sold out everywhere as far as I know. If you can find one I'd definitely pick it up.

I think there is going to be a m1928 conversion kit for the Chinese M1A1. I doubt you will find anymore MM conversion kits.

There is no other market for them. Trust me, the idea of converting it from one of those spring m1928's is also just....just don't do it.
I've heard a little around the rumor mill for a m1928 conversion kit coming out for the chinese made m1a1's, so far though there's no real information on the subject.

Kepe in mind that converting over the reciever and barrel is ONLY step one. There's really no related parts in either weapon when you take a good look at them. Here's a photo of some examples in my collection to illustrate my point:

Does anyone on this forum even have the Mosquito Molds M1928 kit? And if so, do they have pictures?

" Texas " here in sweden got one. I prefer it with the forward pistol grip. (That he also has.) I find it sad that the MM kit is discontinued, and hope for the Chinese kit. I guess if it is released and looks even half-ass good, there is NO excuse for me to not get a Cyma Thompson and the kit for my "Commando" Impression. - Me on the left with borrowed No4. Posed picture and therefore no glasses/goggles.

Has anyone considered approaching AZR in the Phillipines? As I understand it he has a machine shop as well as a woodworking shop. I know The Stoutman has had some correspondence with him. I wonder how much he wants to break into the American market. I also understand there may be some legal problems, but it's a thought.

Hi all I am doing some prep-work and research here. So I have come here to ask of your assistance in this matter. I just went ahead and ordered a M1A1 Thompson from Cyma. The reason I did that was because: 1. I need a skirmishable weapon. 2. I NEED a M1928. 3. I love thompsons. 4. I love M1928`s. 5. The reason I ordered a Cyma thompson is because of it`s stronger barrel-receiver connection. Now. I have read and fully understood how to do the bolt mod on the M1A1 thompson. I would like to make a M1928 out of my Cyma thompson when the Phoenix M1928 kits arrive. Now heres the thing. I know how I should do a moving bolt mod on a M1A1 thompson, where the receiver is on the right side. But doing it on TOP of the mechbox might proove a problem because I do not know if there are any tracks for the spring piston inside the top of the Mechbox of the Thompson. Now, from what I have read the Cyma Thompson and the TM Thompson is 100% the same exept the abovely mentioned strenghtened barrel-receiver connection, as well as the standard mags of the Cyma thompson is plastic, not metal. So. The questions I am asking here, is, are there any tracks inside the top side of the mechbox that should not be removed? And, on the Mosquito molds, does the receiver (Which on theese kits, happens to be on the top.) Move at all, like the side-mounted receivers of the m1a1`s ? I understand how much of a procedure there is to dismantle the mechbox of the thompson. So I will not ask of any of you to actually do that just to give me answers. I would really appreciate your kind assistance in this matter. And I wish you a very good day Sincerely yours RvH

The charging handle (Which is what I'm pretty sure your talking about by reciever, right?) DOES move. The rest, I can't give you a definite answer on.
