Well, alot of you know I recently got AZR Machine and Tool Co.'s Thompson parts kit, but it did not come with an upper reciever. So, I decided to take it into my hands to try to make one myself. I mean, I know im never gonna find the Mosquito Molds M1928, so I made one for myself. I found someone who had a broken 1921 Chicago Typewriter Springer Thompson, so I took it off his hands, and managed to salvage the upper reciever, and the Drum Magazine. I hollowed out the 1921 upper reciever from the springer, and then fit it over the m1a1 reciever. Im gonna use Tommy Gunners proccess to make the drum mag work, but heres some pictures of the Upper reciever in progress. Im still working on the ejector port on the right side of the Thompson, and the mag catch. and it is proving to be VERY hard. Notice that where the upper reciever meets the lower reciever, there is a sloppy mess, that is the adhesive I used to adhere the 1921 reciever to the existing m1a1 reciever. Ill eventually sand it off. Heres the pictures. More to come Let me know what ya'll think This illustrates how I got it after I sawed of the lower reciever which was one giant molded piece of Plastic. Heres after I put on half of the upper reciever.

Wow I think you have alot of work ahead of you with this one, But I think that its gonna pay off in the end. Very nice work, and I like that you thought outside of the box with this one.
Good luck and keep us posted!!

Nice! But as far as I know, didn't the M1921's have different selector switches? If so, will you try to replace them?

It did, I think, but I'm sure he wouldn't have too much trouble fixing that.

ya, Im heading over to Micheals the Hobby Store, and im gonna see if I can find some styrene plast sheets, and that is what im gonna use to complet the rest of the upper reciever, and maybe use the rest to fix the selector switches. If the plastic doesnt work, the springer Thompson came with the appropriate selector switches, so ill be able to make use of those. Ill keep ya'll posted

Don't misunderstand, I think you've done an admirable job, but I'm baffled at all these attempts to make a M1921 or 28 Tommy gun as an AEG by using a TM or CYMA M1A1. My confusion as based on the fact that the lower receiver on an M1A1 is very different from the early models. Here is a good illustration of a 21, 28 and an M1 to show the differences: There's a lot you'd have to do to an M1A1 lower to make it look right! All I think when I see attempts like this is how much coin a company can make, making a good metal (with WOOD furniture) M1928A1 Tommy gun with a metal drum magazine that would include hi-cap stick magazines!

I think its great very very nice job. But I also think that you would be doing a great diservice to yourself and your efforts if you didnt finish filling and smoothing those gaps. I think you need to finish those gaps, and then it will look spectacular.

I will definitely do that Tommy Gunner, cause I do want it to look as real as possible, and by the way, your BAR is looking great!! But anyways, I will probably work on it this weekend, but also I noticed the ejector port is a little too big, but there is really nothing I can do about it at the moment. But I still need to add selector switches, and fill in the gaps. Ill keep ya'll posted

I think it looks very very nice, and simple the fact that you went and made it yourself is very applaudable indeed. I think that it still may need some filler and touching up on the right side of the reciver. Other wise its great!
Oh and the MO is on its way, sorry its taken this long lol

Not a problem, and thanks for the kind words. I deffinitely need to sand the bumps down a bit, and add filler.
