Hey all, here's some pictures from the "Assault on Mt. Suribachi" game I went down south for last weekend. Enjoy: I got a couple more pictures here on my photobucket photobucket.com/albums/y5/GoForBroke/ and here's some that were taken during the game at the field airsoft.forshock.com/gallery.asp and a short video airsoft.forshock.com/Op-February.aviLenix Airsoft Field is, I have to say, one of the best fields that I've played at so far. Lots of trenches and field works, great food - homemade chili mmmm(included in the game fee), and most important - great people (some of the friendliest I've ever played with). The guy who runs it ("Oberst") is also interested in hosting more WWII games so be on the lookout for more games this Spring. BTW I got mad props from a vet there. The local pastor in the area did a little prayer right before the game started, honoring the fallen of Iwo. He was a vet who went through several PTO battles. After he finished and was walking away, he walked past me patted me on the shoulder, and gave me that "thanks" look (Only about four of us there really made an attempt at authentic uni's everyone else was in woodland or desert tricolor ). That totally made my whole weekend ;D.

Cool, I've seen your guy's pictures in the other thread. Absolutely outstanding work! Keep up the good work. I don't know how cold it is there in Colorado, but at this last game it was up in the high desert and it started to snow (Ya snow on Suribachi go figure ), but needless to say my buddie's garand did not respond well to the cold. Eventually he had to dump it and use my thompson while I went hardcore corpsman with my .45 ;D. Hope y'all have better luck with it though. Post pictures when you get back!

My god that sounds awesome! But only 4 people had an impression? Still better than none. What kind of .45 are you using? (W.A. or....) Nice to hear about that OP, I was waiting for you to tell us about it

Silencer, that's a KJW single stacker .45 I'm using. I absolutely love that gun , I recommend it to everyone! I think Jungle Toy has 'em back in stock now too, or that's at least what they told me at their new HQ down in Riverside (haha I got a springer p38 from there too from their $10 crapola pile - good times). But ya only 4 people really put in even an effort at a proper impression - Me, my buddy, another marine, and only one Japanese. Woulda been nicer to see more people at least try, but the friendlyness and the caliber of people there kind of offset that. Any games up north here you gonna make it out to soon? We still need to go out to a game together and pwn all the modern nubz with our l33t ww2ness lol .

I will be getting my thompson this week! So sooner or later we can go out for a game.
I was wondering what the kjw single stack 1911 was like. I was so close to buying one, but instead saved my money. How well does it perform?
It would have been cool to see some good impressions amongst the japanese but that would be really hard considering an airosft version of their gun would be either really expensive or non-existant. Good to see a PTO event though, marines actually fought most of the war for us.

The KJW 1911, is simply awesome. I recommend it to everybody regardless of whether they do WWII. Good power and range, and a helluva lot cheaper than a WA to boot. It's my favorite and most reliable gas gun, and one of my favorite guns period!

uhhhhh .....what?not really, given that there about 4 times as many army units in combat in the pacific as there were USMC ones.

Well, I think what he's getting across is that marines spearheaded most of the Pacific front, as they were an assault force. As on Guadalcanal, the Army was mostly an occupation and clearing force, making Marines a "special occasion" branch. Not to belittle the Army at all, since they did well in Europe.

If you think about the pacific.... what imediatly comes to mind. A big firefight with tommies and flamethrowers with MArines and Japanese dudes fighting it out to the death.
