Go to www.battlesim.com and click on the banner as seen above. The details should be there soon. The Vaughn location is very cool. A POW escape and evade scenario I would imagine.

All I can say is that it will involve a POW escape, which you already probably surmised . My god really!!!!! ;D just playing around. I was assuming it would be sort of "great raid" type thing with some E&E mixed in. so like Allies- two squads for rescue + pows (although in reality most wouldnt be in fighting shape although i'm sure this will be excused.) Axis- Assorted german guards + two squads to counter attack

The details of this game are still being worked out but I can assure anyone that it will be a very intense and fun time, It is somewhat in the spirit of "The great Escape" "Stalag 17" (the old B&W movie). or "Hogan's Heroes" nothing to do with the real atrocities of some POW camps (like those of "the great raid"). Anyone within a reasonable distance is highly encouraged to attend. We don't get to many WWII events and you'll be sorry if you miss out.

To begin with yes, the Allies will mostly all be POW's. But don't worry, there will be plenty of fighting. And being a POW won't be a bad life. The Kommandant at Stalag 14 likes Americans and British and treats them well.

Do any of the guards see nothing, hear nothing, know nothing??? ;D
Sounds like a great game. Hopefully i'll have a decent impression together, by then.

The impressions will probably exhibit quite a bit of flexibility as alot of POWs ended up with a hodgepodge of clothes and uniforms mixed. I suspect a heavy mix and Army Air Corp would be appropriate (leather jackets and 20 mission caps) It should be fun. I know the area they plan to use is well adapted to it.
We recently played a game where small groups had to sneak their way past roving patrols and it was a lot of fun. The area is also well suited to night operations which we did alot of.

Ya i'll probably be a 28th Infantry pow for this event. Should be easy enough to get an acceptable infantry impression together. Probably get me a nice "jeep driver" cap to finish off the pow look Can't wait for my first WWII event. Now i just gotta get Go4Broke to come with me EDIT: Just another thought of something cool to bring.... Anyone up for a little catch in the camp??? Don't know how authentic it would be, but i assume if we're being treated well jerry wouldnt mind us having a couple mitts and a baseball.... ;D

Remember the gloves of the day were flat almost oversized leather hand gloves and didn't have much in the way of webbing.

www.battlesim.com/battlesim/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8464WHAT: Escape from Stalag 14 WHERE: Vaughn, WA WHEN: 22-23 Sep 2007 COST: $55 W/ Your OWN WWII KIT $70 W/O WWII KIT
BACKGROUND: Luftwaffe run P.O.W. Camp "Stalag 14" located in the forests of Northern Germany - Late Sept 1944
STORY: It's late 1944 and the numerous Allied bombing campaigns and the turn of the war on the beaches of Normandy, the once powerful forces of Germany are beginning to feel the squeeze. The war is nearly over, Hitler’s last great offensive has been crushed and Allied soldiers will soon cross the Rhine, and will finally be in Germany. German supplies are becoming scarcer and the thought of a "Greater Germany" is now a memory. The brave men of the American, British, French and other allied nations continue to fight. For most soldiers, all they can think about is home, and what they will do when they finally make it back.
However, the war is not yet over. Germany while a shadow of its former military might is still a force to be reckoned with and German patrols wage an unceasing war of small, hard, counterattacks against American patrols. These counterattacks have taken their toll, and the Allies must call upon their reinforcements. You had been ordered to the vicinity of Eastern Europe to locate a supposed base of operations for these German counterattacks.
You’re captured.
While moved through the mountains of Northern Germany, separated from you men, your thoughts are on your family. Looking around, your sights are of other captured men; they line the walls of the transport truck. Behind you, more trucks of allied men: prisoners of war. The convoy stops and as you’re ordered to step out, you look ahead: "Willkommen zu Stalag 14".
PLAYER INFO: ***ATTENTION***
-You WILL be captured. -You WILL escape. -Your equipment WILL NOT be messed with. -You WILL NOT spend the entire game sitting, there will be action!
This game calls upon those players who like to take it seriously and what to have an exciting game.
***IFTHERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE POST***

hmm, best we start digging now?
I'm registered for the event. This will be my first WWII event, a friend hooked me up with some essential gear [Troy being said friend], got boots and a uniform in the mail. Yay.
