You might be asking yourself, what the heck dose he mean by that?
Well its this simple. Its up to us, as individual WW2 AS Enthusiasts, to Promote and recruit for our hobby.
I Have Seen Many people post on other websites before, "I Am Interested in ww2 AS, But I'm not gonna Be the only Goofball guy dressed in WW2 gear at an event. I Will only do it when I see Others doing it.
Well I Say,, why cant WE be seen doing it? Its the Best form of advertisement for our hobby guys! It motivates others to try it out, who may have been considering it,
I Have worn Both German and US Impressions to Regular events. (matter of fact, I ALWAYS wear WW2 gear to all events I attend) and I have never encountered any hostility. Quite the opposite actually, People Usually want to take pictures and compliment me. they have never Failed to be Impressed, and several have even said that they have started collecting there own impressions.
As a matter of fact,, I Met a Guy Years ago at Operation Southern comfort 3,, dressed in a WW2 German Impression, and that was a Major motivator in my decision to build my first impression. Several of you may have started out the same way.
Wear your Impressions to Events. Answer Questions. Promote the hobby. And Most especially,,
ALWAYS BE POLITE. EVEN IN THE FACE OF SUPREME IGNORANCE. Its always bad to represent the hobby by behaving like an A-hole. Ripping on some Novice New kid on a web board for asking something stupid, Is a Shure way to leave a bad impression. The only Truly stupid question is the one that goes un-asked.
Everything you say or do at an event, can be Representative of our hobby. Good or bad.
