I am! Bayside Queens.I currently Have 2 impressions as of now '43-'44 Fallschirmjager and a Gran Sasso/Sicily Fallschirmjager. I am Currently in the process of a mid war Waffen SS LAH impression. Currently own TopMP-40(Kaput), Agm Mp-40 and Maruzen Walther P-38. I am really trying pretty hard to aquire a Mauser K98 wether it be a Tanaka or a Marushin 8MM model for a Sharpshooter/sniper weapon but with building the SS impression this hobby can get pretty expensive! LOL I am though trying to buy the gun before the impression so at least I can use it for my Fallschirmjager kits. I have been thinking of trying to fiqure out ways to promote this (WW2AS) and find others that may have an interest here(LI) maybe Militaria shows or maybe going to a local skirmish or two and display a kit/weapons, there just doesnt seem to be many resources for it. Where abouts are 'ya? What kind of kits do you have. My brother and I are going to the August 18th skirmish that the 3rd Fallschirmjagers are holding up in Albany if you'd like to hitch a ride! ww2aa.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=east&action=display&thread=1183635014Hope to hear from you soon!

I am waaay out on the island. I am in a town called Southold. If you take the LIE to the end, you are about 20 minutes away xD
I know what you mean by expensive hobby. I just recently got most of a (modern) British loadout to go with my Star SA80, I had to ordered most of it from the UK and it all hit the bank hard.
I am currently trying to find a way to get a soviet gun and if I succeed I will follow that up with a whole loadout. I will probably get maybe one of two of us that are out here to do the same and we can start a guard unit. I have kind of been following the eastern front now ever since I started a CoH mod (link in my sig). I have been reading up on some things and I would really like to get a team going out here. If I cant get that then I will have to go an M1. I don't think I will have anything ready to be able to go up in August, but hopefully when there is another event I will be able to make that one.
About your kar98, I personally have had much better experience with Tanaka then Marushin. I don't know about the kar98, but my friend had an M1 carbine and he had a lot of problems with that. I have a Marushin M1887 and I am having a little bit of troubles with that as well. I have a Tanaka Colt SAA and I love it. It is my favorite sidearm. The thing shoots incredibly well, its fun to shoot, its fun to have around in general. I have heard a lot of good things about there M700 or the such. I don't know about the Kar98, I have only seen one from a team upstate called Oct Luft, and that was a few months ago, I didn't bother to ask him if it was Tanaka or Marushin. It shot very nicely, and I think it was Tanaka, but I do not know.

Warlord516, Sorry I haven't replied sooner. Been away for awhile. I do have an inpression put together. I have a 9th infantry division impression put together. This was my fathers division and I'm paying tribute to him. In addition to me, my 10 year old is also dressed in similar dress. (hard to find his size on some items) This is how we both dress for our areas airsoft games. Him and I really get a kick out of it, and I am dying to take him to a WW2 airsoft event. Please keep me posted if you hear anything. Thanx for your interest.
