Greetings, I am new to the WWII part of airsoft, however I do own a store in Milwaukee (Thewargameroom.com), where I sell TM and other Airsoft equipment. I have alway been interested in WWII, and yesterday one of your members stopped into the store and told me about this site. I am interested in a good site for WWII aeg's, and uniforms, probably US type uniforms. I have read the sites posted but looking for a favorite. I also own a field by West Bend WI (35 acres) where I have hosted paintball games for the past 15 years and airsoft for the past 3 years. I would be happy to host WWII airsoft games if people are interested let me know. Checkoput the site and forums for pic of the field, it is set up for military style playing. Gary

Gary, great to meet you. Was this member perhaps a Ranger? As for a "favorite" site, ours is probably Den Trinity for WWII aeg's (TM Thompson) for uni's and gear, there are three sites that have the best prices among them but, first and foremost is Capt Zak's supply depot. He's very reasonable, carries a good chunk of the stuff and he's one of us. A link to his site can be found on the main page. For reference for all US uniform and equipment in all stores I made a chart about a month ago. You can find it here www.fileden.com/files/2006/12/22/541425/WWII%20US%20Army%20soldier%20Impression%20guide.xlsMany of these items are of course "either/or" items. One's to focus on are: --M1 helmet w/liner (that's unique talk to guys about finding one (different venders etc)) --wool field shirt --wool field trousers --service shoes or roughouts (www.atthefront.com) --m41 field jacket (or m43 jacket for late war impression) --leggings (or get double buckles with your rough outs for late war impression --a havresack or a musette bag --if you go with a musette bag, you will need suspenders or to save some dough, you could just get the suspenders and get a musette bag later --an airsoft weapon. --pistol belt You obviously don't need all of those things for your first event but, those are the very very very basics. after those come --t-handle shovel and cover (or folding shovel for late war) --canteen w/ cover --ammo pouches or bags for whatever weapon you choose --carlisle bandages --jeep cap and overseas cap (soda jerk cap) I am almost at this point in my impression but, for your first event I reccomend --helmet --wool field pants --wool shirt --m41/43 jacket AT THE VERY LEAST. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me or anyone else on the site. IF you are interested in doing an impression other than a US Army impression, ignore all this and talk to someone else. If you notice this post gets ignored down the road, repost your question in either the "Allied Impression" or "Axis Impression" portion of the site.

"if you go with a musette bag, you will need suspenders or to save some dough, you could just get the suspenders and get a musette bag later"
If you're going for the reg. leg look, I would not opt for the suspenders/mussette bag combo, it was rarely found with regular infantry. Of course, you could be like a vast majority of WWII GI's, you could just 'lose'you pack, and just run a cartridge belt/ pistol belt rig.

No he was a german, forgot his name, something jack, have it written at the store. Thanks for the info, however I will not order from overseas US stores only, I have had too many bad dealing with overseas distru. At this time I belong to an airsoft team, Tiger Recon, we play all types of skirmishes but we wear the army acu's. I have skirm twic monthly at my field in West Bend Wi but again mostly modern based skrims, at this time I own a M16a2, and an MP5A5, with my eyes on a russian AK47beta. Iam a retired City of Pollice Police officer with most of my time spend either at my store or playing airsoft several times a month at my field.

Cap't Zak is right here in the states and a member(Treasurer) here on the WW2AA. I am sure he could get you hooked up uniform wise. As a retailer of TM AEG's I am sure you know the best/Only Allied AEG is gonna be a Thompson. Alternatley you could get a TM M14 and then buy the Garand kit for it, also sold by another member here 2ndBat. Welcome to WW2AA we are a friendly bunch.

What do you mean you don't remember me? Gary I think is trying to protect my privacy here. He is a nice guy (former Cop and retired Special Forces guy) who still looks like he could run a covert operation or two. We never worked together but know one another from Napoleonics. I for one welcome your involvement in the WWII era. Heck, I'm a big-time newbie compared to you. I think that you will enjoy it since there is so much history connected with it. You are in my neck of the woods as your land is up near West Bend, WI.
On the other hand, I don't think you want to give the impression here that you are willing to host events however for free, right? I remember asking you and you indicated that players pay you $15/head/day when playing on your land. I don't see any problem with that but let our readers know that up front and then trust is established. Or you might mean that since you are excited to play WWII with us you are willing to host on your property for free??? I didn't get that impression when talking to you at your store. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Still I would play for the fee if need be. 35-acres with extras on it. That would be cool. I guess you should clarify your stance. I was happy to find a retailer in my town. I'll be back in for supplies and parts and stuff - that's for sure. It was nice seeing you again.

Welcome to the WW2AA Gary. Drop me a PM. I can help you with all your uniform needs. Great to know of an airsoft supplier that is not half way across the planet.

You are right on all accounts didnt want to give away any intell on your visit. Yes I host games at the field in West Bend and Yes I charge a field fee of 15.00, have to pay the bills. I host games every other weekend with the 4th being the next game. These game are all MILSIM. with mostly modern or current events being the theme. I would be very interested in hosting a WWII event, but would like a little input as to this organizations style of play. I average around 40- 50 players a game, with more in the nicer weather and I am sure there would be a nice turn out if something was put together.

I received a visit from the German Army yesterday, we discussed several areas of gaming and I got some good input on how to run a skirmish with the WWII favor. I will pass this info onto my modern gaming companions and will plan a WWII skirmish in the near future. They have persuaded me (in their mild German way) to join the German cause. They said that with my blue eyes and blond hair (with a little grey) I would fit into the German profile.
