Ok. I'm finally back home and able to give a little better response. Like I said in my previous post all three of us STL guys had a GREAT time... despite not having very much play time. Just sitting around the fire in the Allied camp shooting the applesauce was quite a bit of fun. One thing I can say is I never felt like an outsider or a new guy the entire time I was there. I felt welcomed at the event along with my other two guys. We chatted a little bit about this on our way back to Ben's house Saturday afternoon. For all three of us this was our first event with the Midwest WW2AA but it felt like we had been to your events before. That really said something to me. I've been to events where noone really talked to the 'out of towners' because they're 'new' but it wasn't like that this weekend. Red, it was great finally getting to meet you. I've read quite a bit of your useful information on here and the WWII Reenactors board so it was pretty cool getting to talk 'the biz' in person. And for everyone else, you guys are great. It's nice to finally put a face to the names on these boards. The group reminds me quite a bit of our group here in STL which is why I think the three of us STL guys felt welcomed. Another thing I wanted to touch on was everyone impressions... needless to say I was quite impressed. Everyone looked great out there despite the needed changes due to the weather. It's a nice change from seeing everyone running around in whatever they want carrying M4s, AKs and MP5s. Yes I've done reenactments before and experienced this sort of atmosphere with that but to see it done with airsoft really shows me the potential we have for growing WWII Airsoft in the Midwest. I want to give Frank and Ben a big thank you for putting this event together... yes not everything went to plan but that'll happen. But like I said, despite the setbacks it was an awesome event and I'll definitely be coming back to more of your events! I'm also sure that my other two guys will come back as well. Let's just make sure next time it's not going to be really cold and snowing... unless we're doing a Battle of the Bulge game I'll be talking about this event with the guys down here in STL to push the whole WWII thing. I know a few are interested and are slowly getting impressions together so with any luck, next time I make it up there I might have even more guys to bring with me! I managed to get a few pictures after the game. I haven't looked at them yet so I'm not sure if they came out but if they did I'll post them up here. p.s. Denny's was a blast. ;D

I am extremely happy you all enjoyed yourself. I personally wasnt sane, (due to lack of sleep for 2 nights in a row before the event .) Forgot various items at home, the attack time didnt go at the right time (allies were a bit late), The weather certainly wasnt being much help either. Though you guys seemed to have a good time, how can I say I didnt? ;D I just want to thank Ben for getting us the property, he always picks the perfect area for an event. Thank you to all who could attend! Franz

I think thats it for the photos......IF my darn camera would have worked there woudl have been a video, but even after I had it plugged in for several hours to charge the battery the damn thing went dead on me at the event. But just as my luck would have it I got it out after the event at my home I turned it on and it said I had 81 min of battery......all I can think of was that the cold got to the battery or something I have no idea.

I can't seem to get photobucket to host my pictures correctly... they keep on resizing them so they're really small... despite the settings that I use to upload them Once I figure it out I'll post the few photos I took.

that was the most fun ive had for a long time.
its a toss-up between the dennies run and using that one poor kid as a target for everything under the sun. or moon as the case was.
my stomach still hurts from both the jokes at denny's and diving for cover as the large rocket-that-didnt-go-anywhere exploded. that stick was pointy.
(i was the 30 cal gunner btw)

Hey Sargentwolf, I'm the moving target. Dont feel sorry for me it was fun. I was mostly numb so i didnt feel the whole impact ;-) had it been a 90 degree day/night i would not have been doing that ;-) plus the running kept me warm haha. -Cary

There was only about 30 minutes of combet. Then the blizzard started and the event was called off due to safety and NO visability.

Yeah, from the looks of the other posts you'd swear the event was held at the friggen Dennys.

Hahaha...very well put, Jeff.
Called off after 30 minutes becuase of the blizzard, or because the War Machine of that is the 352nd Div. was to much for the Allies? That is the question..

hahahahaha he was with me!!!!!!! I didn't even know it was Franky at first, but I could smell him...
For the actual gameplay, I thought it was very fun! the snow seemed to help because it hardened the ground so that then we didn't slide down as much. Had the game continued farther into the ravine it would have been a much longer game, but we traveled up to the highest point too early. The engineers did a good job... making noise... But all the smoke grenades did help as we got closer to the enemy. Also that .30 cal was outta this world. It was hard to move up, but once the lollipops was set-up it unleashed a fury of death and pain upon the unrelenting foes. I'm such a nerd.
