We need to get some more krauts in the battlefield. Too many people are just wanting to be americans now. I have dragged out that german uniform of mine out the closet and dusted it off, and I suggest all of you who have one do the same. We can't have games without them, and seeing by rosters, nobody seems to care! Please, one game has been cancelled already, please don't make it two!

It doesnt always have to be german, although thats probably the easiest axis uniform to get, there are more impressions that could be made. Italian, Finnish, Japanese, Bulgarian, Romanian, Swedish (even though they where mostly neutral some still fought on the axis side). But I agree completely with Mauser, we need more axis.

Kind of hard when your in america where your grandfathers faught for our freedom against the nazis and japs. some people cant pull themselves to portray someone who killed their relitves. like me i wont be a nazi eventhough it is just "pretent" or "reenactment".

I would portray an Axis member, if the uniforms weren't so much more expensive than the American and Russian uniforms.

I would only do a FJ uniform because they had that whole chivaric feel. I don't agree with doing SS and I guess I might do heer, but it is very expensive. However, capt zak has a FJ smock I could use for an unbeatable price hmmmm.

There's nothing wrong with portraying SS, it's like the ComandoSupremo Mod's say, "we don't write history, we recognize it."

Yeah, I guess your right, what I mixed up was the volunteers into the RA. There where a few Swed's (pro-fascists after 1943)

Hold on I never said I disagreed with portraying the SS. I just don't want to. Lets not turn this thread into one of those arguments ok.

I agree that the tanker wrap you sported in an earlier impression looked awesome. It's really a great look.

The panzer wrap jacket or "Panzeranzug" in german was designed in 1936 for use inside the tanks and other armoured vehicles but also in parades.
The best source for uniforms of the 20th century is
Chris McNab's book: "20th century military uniforms"
I recommend

In a perfect world it's nice when players have reasonable impressions for both antogonistic sides so as the event draws close you can configure the elements so simulated conflict can be conducted. I always try to have a few spare impressions around that can fill in the blanks and most groups have one or two guys able to do the same.
Fortunately we live in a area where Helmutt (a local game sponsor and player) has reasonable German impressions for 30 players! I have US for about 12 to 15. Keep in mind also that sides don't need to be even. For true Mil sim it's better to have uneven sized forces. Rarely is conflict conducted with even sized forces. Factor at least 3 to 1 if not 5 to one for offensive operations. This is particularly true if attacks are channalized (boundary restricted) or defensive positions are fortified and camouflaged. Also with airsoft you can get creative with regen rules to help even out force sizes.

I always like being on the outmanned team, it makes it funner. It is even funner when the defenses are poor or we are outgunned as well. Thats when it really gets fun. Now in real life i hope I will never get in that kind of position.......
I hope to get a german impression done by the time i can play so that I can have 2 impressions.
