It looks like there are a number of local players who are new to WWII airsoft and plan on coming. I've told them to dress as armed civilians so we can use them to balance forces (I've printed up 15 Volkssturm armbands just in case,) but if any of you have loaner gear or spare gear for sale to beginner WW2 players, please bring it.
Directions to the Field from I-94:
Address: Buddenhagen Farm N2955 Sidney Ave. Neillsville, WI 54456
Take I-94 to the Osseo exit. Turn east on Hwy 10 and drive towards Neillsville. From Osseo to Sidney Ave is about 35 miles of county forest land, pretty but full of deer and turkeys and the occasional bear so stay awake. Once you climb the hill and pass High Ground on your right and Hwy. G on your left, keep your eyes peeled for an "WWII Event" sign on the righthand side of the road as you head back down the other side of High Ground hill. Turn right onto Sidney Ave - it's at the bottom of the valley, about halfway between the High Ground Memorial and the Neillsville city limits. Continue south on Sidney Ave until you see anther "WWII Event" sign on your right by a driveway set in a stand of pines. Turn right, drive to the parking area on your left, park and get out. Introduce yourself, dig your gear out of the back, and commence to have fun.
From the east, take Hwy 10 west through Neillsville. Start looking for Sidney Ave. and the "WWII Event" sign on your left a little ways after you cross the Black River bridge. Turn left onto Sidney and proceed as above.

I don't care what you say, you could give those directions to Lt. Sobel (BoB) and he would still get lost.

I'm having a hard time sleeping at night thinking about your armored car spewing death into our ranks. Oh the horror!
Really looking forward to next weekend!

Looks like frost Friday night, so bundle up, campers - 29 degrees for the low. Saturday they're calling for highs in the mid-50s, partly cloudy, no precip, and almost no wind. PERFECT.

You kids have fun and make sure the press corps gets plenty of images! A news reel would be nice as well Anyway, we expect a full AAR upon cessation of hostilities! -G

Thanks for the sentiments Guinness. The press corp thing is still up in the air. Still no volunteers for video so anybody who is handy with their camera, bring it so we can add this element to the event. Thanks.

It's a bit late, but will anyone attending the game have SS insignia available for purchase?
A friend of mine who's attending wants some to complete his uniform, but failed to give me any real time (he called today at 6:00)...
Any arrangement of collar tabs, shoulder boards, and eagles will do. If you bring whatever extras you have, he would be willing to pay in cash for what he needs. So if you have surplus, it can't hurt to bring it...

OK, ladies and gentlemen, it's Friday the 12th. The day is finally here!
Please remember to dress warm and bring your longjohns, because it's gonna get nippy tonight. Tomorrow, temps could be in the 40s until noon or so - a balmy Ostfront day, comrades, breathe deep and be glad you are still alive!
Troy is on the field all day today to help get campers set up, and I will be there around 3pm to start checking players in. We are looking forward to shoo - I mean, meeting you all. See you soon!

Just a word on the press corps thing: I'll be bringing a period camera (Actually not quite, it was made the year after the war ended, but the differences in the pre and post war models are almost indistinguishable) and three rolls of film. Due to some problems with getting my last batch of pictures returned to me; I'm going to have doubles made, if you would be interested in any pictures, PM me after the event and we will set something up. There will be a price attached, but only enough to get the pictures developed and shipped to your door. The camera is a WIP so the quality of the pictures may be hit and miss, there will be more details in that department after I have gotten the first batch developed. So I won't be using a video camera, but I will have some stills available after the event.

Many thanks to Gryphon and Troy for an absolutely fantastic event. The site was amazing and provided many great features for the scenarios. I have a love/hate relationship with the village in that I loved defending it and hated attacking it! I look forward to playing at Troy's again. This was my first airsoft event, so I really didn't know what to expect. What I found was a bunch of great people who were very friendly and open. Reenacting has a lot of attitudes and clicks at play. I detected none of that at this event. Let's keep it that way. The games were 10x more fun than any blank fire event I've been to. Thanks again, gentlemen. I look forward to the ersatz brothers' after action report and PICTURES. Too many details would steel their thunder

I don't look happy in the last picture because Subway stopped selling their bourbon chicken sandwich.
