Good Evenning This is my first post on this board and hope i am welcome and get some answers. I am from Austria and got my Garand ( 2nd hand , owner didn´t get it running) yesterday. I received no manual, but i dissambeld it to see where the Garand was jaming. I found an interessting new problem, i never saw before , reading through the major airsoft boards. The Spring in the bolt (picture 1) scratched over the guideblocks (picture 2) filing a nice groove in. The spring sometimes also gets cought bei the guideblock an garand stops action. Here the Pics: I fixed it already , through sinking the spring into Part 45 (imho part 45 i got no manual) Now the action is smooth and there is no hanging or something but i can´t get i running an Topgas ( just a little stronger than Greengas). The hammer seems to hit the first of the two valve pins ( a bullet is shot out) but is not able to open the second valve, so there is no blowback cycle. When I am filling just a short shoot of gas in it cycles nice for 3-4 shoots until running out of gas. Could it be that the Hammerspring is to weak to open both valves? I´ll try to get a weaker gas tomorrow. and now the Questions: During dissasembly i found some parts i was wondering about. At first a screw witch got no purpose at all: ( so i locktightend it ;D) Anyone? what is this screw holding in place? second part is a Bolt above the gasblowback rod ,and between the to screws for the valves. Has this bolt got any function? It´s moving freely between blowbackmechanism and Bolt and gets pushed forward and backward. the third point is a little screw that isn´t there. Should´t there be a screw fixing the barrel? I think somewhere i saw a picture with a screw in there. and last but not least : i can´t find an online version of the manual anywhere. has someone a link or something to get it? I hope someone could answer a part of my question . Especially the problem with with using Topgas... Mfg A.W.

Good Evenning During dissasembly i found some parts i was wondering about. At first a screw witch got no purpose at all: ( so i locktightend it ;D) Anyone? what is this screw holding in place? This screw is holding in that pin to the right of it in the photo. Remove the screw to get the pin out. the third point is a little screw that isn´t there. Should´t there be a screw fixing the barrel? I think somewhere i saw a picture with a screw in there. No screw goes there. I believe there is one somewhere, if you remove the front wood part. That C-shaped metal piece also comes off (the part you circled.) I'm not too sure about the other parts. I'm actually curious about the silver bolt piece myself, not sure what it does. A question of my own for anyone: In the picture with the silver bolt circled, there are 2 flat-headed "Screws" that look like they pertain to the valves for BB firing and blowback. Does adjusting these in/out have any effect? I wonder if his problem of no blowback could be solved by adjusting the screws, or if they are simply ways to access the inside of the valve, and not meant for adjustment. It's interesting that one is sunk in, and the other one is flush with the inner-receiver part.

Good morning
Adjusting the two screws is not possible and will only make the system leaky. The two screws got a O-ring to make the system gastight, screwing them out means not sealing the screws right. I think the valves are only offset because of the different Valve holes drilled in the Body ( one for Blowback to the front and one for firing to the rear).
Btw the Metallpiece ( where i thought should be a screw..) is fixed between the wood parts only through pressure of the frontset ( barrel wth thread is applying pressure ) under the Metal part is a drilled hole, but no screw anywhere to fit in....

You are correct about the gas issue, mine does the same thing, on anything higher than 134a the first shot/if you haven't fired it for a few mins. just strikes the firing valve and not the blowback valve. It really needs 134a.

boehler, what kind of reinforcement does it have to use green gas safely? Only loctite the screws? The lot that arrived to Spain through our usual importer vents most of the gas inside the handguard if green gas is used, even reinforcing all the screws.
Mine arrived right from HK, instead ;D , but it doesn't shoot as hard as it should and bolt is slow and after several shots doesn't cycle completely.

Hmm The improvement to use Greengas is simply to change the HighPressureValve ( wich opens when the tank is filled with gas with to high pressure) The valve s located at the front end ( shooting direction) of the tank.
It seems to me its cycling slower when using higher-pressure-gas, because it takes some time until the gas can escape out of the Blowbackcylinder , With higher Pressure there is more gas to escape, and the bolt stays longer in the backward position.
I will now modificate it to use HPA , i´ve got all parts and only have got to test if it works properly with an Angelair-Regulator.

Thanks. That valve is one of the "big brass screws"?

It is a big brass screw, but cannot be seen on the Pictures (these are just the blowback and the shooting valve ) The pressure release valve is located at the end of the tank under the Blowback cylinder . I will make a Photo. Mfg A.W. EDIT: You have got to screw the large Brassscrew out, and then screw out the vent and screw it in the backside ( wich means in the end that would normally be in the gastank)of the large brassscrew.

Curious. I could not find the valve, because mine doesn't have one, only a big screw with a rubber o-ring: I think i will put it from inside of the tank, just in case.

Good evenning WTF You haven´t got a presure release valve.... interessting! I don´t think you will e able to screw it in without dissasambling the whole gun. The lower plate of the tank is connected with th receiver and holds some parts like valve strikers in place. But its not necessary, cause there will not spill out any gas, if the screw was screwed in correctly. When nd where did you buy your gun? can you probably make some detail photos of other parts like the ejecting mechanism ,..... ? Where is the gun spilling gas ? could it be from the blowback cylinder? Shot it without stock assambled. simply put on the triggerassambly and shot, and look where the gas comes out. Mfg A.W.

It spills from this screw. The part before the head has a rubber O-ring and maybe doesn't seal completely. I'll try to check if it still spills after tightening it, but I can't do it until weekend.
I bought it at WGC in december 2005.

Sorry for the delay in answering. Could try it only at home, but it doesn't leak after a good tightening. Until I have the chance to go to a game (knee operation coming, ouch), performance test will have to wait.

Hi all
I finally got Part no.45 put in. But I still dont know how to tighten foregrips and barrel, they are loose like hell..
Also, when I fire the gun, no bullet comes out, only blowback.
I checked the left firing pin, and I saw the " handle" which is touching the firing pin and then goes back to the end of the receiver, and from there hit by the hammer. It seems as if the Handle glides down beneath the firing pin instead of staying in front of it. The only thing I can think of is that a piece should hold the "handle" in front of the firing pin, and that that piece is gone. I try to hold the gun sideways, with lower handle/buttstock off. And then push the "handle" so that its in front of the firing pin, but again, no bullet going out of the barrel, they just keep rollin out of the barrel..
I`m out of ideas, but open to any suggestions.
Edit: aah never mind, there was a spring just above it, that spring needed to be below the "handle" so that problem is fixed.
But I still cannot figure out for the bare life of mine how I am supposed to make sure anything in front of the gun is supposed to.. not shackle like.. worse then.. yeah u kno those cars u see on tv where bumpers are barely hanging onto the car.. Until that problem is fixed, I dont even dare to touch the hopup
Sincerely Yours

1.) Loosen screw 119and remove part 30. 2.)Lossen screw 120 3.)Grab the end of part 29 (muzzle) firmly between your fingers and screw it firm until nothing is moving. ( i did it with my finges, probably you will need a caliper for tighting and wrap the muzzle with a towel or something similar) This should fix the front. 4.)fix screw 120 5.) reassemble frontsight, fix screw119. 6.) finished i Hope this helpes, i fixed my front doing this. yours A.W.

also, redvonhammer, mine had the same issue as yours. The entire outer barrel is threaded OVER the inner barrel. Grab it, and screw the entire outer barrel till it stops wobbling. That way, your handgaurds don't move and neither do the sights.
