Awesome Gordy! That looked like a lot of fun. Armored anything in airsoft is far and few between on the East Coast. That is terrific you got a REAL Armoured vehicle! Looks like a lot of fun and a great write up there!

We have had several events with multiple actual armored vehicles and it really adds a lot to the event. I have a friend with two M-114s which were full tracked armored recon vehicles. (Like mini M-113s in a way) He has also an M-57 which is a gigantic APC that hold 12 troops and a crew. (The ground shakes when it goes by!) In addition there's another local fellow who has a 1942 Scout car by WHITE that looks like a four wheel drive version of the half track. He has a propane powered .50 cal and two .30 cal machine guns on it that are awesome. Saftey is of course a huge concern. (tankers refer to Infantry as "Crunchies") but with proper cautionary rules and responsible players it adds a lot to your event.

It flowed quite well and had an excellent story line with lots of costumed role players and even an actual ongoing radio broadcast with updates to support the Mugambi Western Africa story line. The road net within the area was too limited for decent vehicle operation but we did what we could. We've found a new venue with 7 miles of road net and gorgeous forests and varied terrain that should work really well. It's also closer in to the Puget Sound corridor and main population base.

A WW2 themed paintball game was held in Oklahoma last weekend. 7,000 players 8 to 12 "Tanks" most of which looked completely hokey. 99% of the folks weren't in any kind of viable impression but a few of the vehicles mounted on pickup truck chassis actually looked fairly decent.
