I got this last night from a friend of mine at AEX last night, and GOD do I love it!!! Seriously, I searched and searched and the only plastic parts are the grip, and the magazine. Everything else is Metal and wood. It consists of a Stamped Steel Reciever CA V3 box from a SLR 105U CA gears Systema Piston Systema silent head set Replaced all O rings with stock TM ones. CA tappet and nozzle CA cylinder Guarder SP100 CA AK hop CA bucking CA inner barrel KA Noveski Krink with trades What weve all been waiting for... PICTURES!! LOTS OF PICTURES Heres the CA Hicap (Bakelite) mag he included. I really didnt like the coloring of it. It was too bright and orange, so I sanded it, and then added a reddish tint to it, and then added the black marbing look. Let me know what you think. So overall, this gun deserves an 11 out of 10. The performance is also outstanding. The v3 gearbox sounds great, and at 30 feet, it went straight through both sides of a monster energy drink can. We also chronoed it last night, and it seemed consistent at around 360 feet. The only bad thing not about the gun itself is that, and I think this is with all aks, you have to hold the magazine in place a tiny bit for the bbs to feed properly. But other than that, this gun rocks!! It feels like the real thing!

holding the mag to get it to feed is not consistant with all/any AK's I have owned and that has been a few. Something is amiss.

Yeah, if you have to do that definately not 11/10.
Try putting some tape, or something thin in the magwell where the magazine lip goes.

Looks awesome, nice work on the mag. Looks waaaay better than any of the currently marketed airsoft-mags. But still doesn't beat a real one. It looks like it could still use some rough-handling and abuse! I had the same feeding issue in my Inokatsu AKM with some magazines. Remedied it by changing the release lever to a dremeled-down real deal East German one. Because of the real spring, it's very stiff, but I like it that way. It holds the magazine better and feels more manly. While installing the spring, I slipped a bit and the spring flew towards my eye. Fortunately the prongs didn't hit the eye itself. Although eye-patches are probably one of the coolest things in the world, I think I'll wear safety glasses in the future.

sweet! it looks great! i'm not a big fan of the bakelite mags myself, i've always loved the waffle pattern ones or just the original style, but you did a great job nonetheless.

Original style as in the ones for the ak47? because they aren't correct by any means for an ak74. Very nice looking gun by the way migmadavis.

i wasn't talking about the waffle style, i was talking about the style with three ribs going down the side. i was just saying i like the waffle style, OR the original, fresh from the factory style.

My bro has the same gun and the same problem with the supplied bakelite mag. The rear lip isn't formed very well but you can fix it in 5 mns with a file. Well worth investing in some cheapsoft metal mags as well.

No need investing in metal magazines. the ak74 series uses strictly bakelyte (a type of plastic) magazines. A lot of people in airsoft try to slap in an ak47 mag in an ak74, but on a real steel it's a no-no.

There are black, bakelite and plum AK74 mags. Bakelite were first used in the Afghan war and now they use all three colors.
