***INFO***
Sorry for the short notice, but due to the fact that the WW2 game scheduled on May 31st in Minnesota has been pushed back to June 14th, we’ve decided to stay with the date and do a throw-together public WW2 event. Information on the previously scheduled May 31st game and its reschedule can be found at the following link…

A few members of the Midwest Ostfront Association (www.ostfrontairsoft.com) are getting together for a WW2 camping weekend. Since we’ll be meeting up at the ABZ field in Fairchild, we decided to open it to the public! This is more of a WW2 weekend, hangout, and get together more than just a straight out event. Consider it a private game on someone’s private land… but its opened to the public on an established airsoft field. Because of this, you are expected to play safe and respectfully while at the field… being able to use an established field for free is a privilege!
There are no definite missions or objectives planned, but we’ll be kicking off a new WW2 storyline campaign, a Risk-style campaign involving the Eastern front (Russian VS German) from World War 2. Players can participate in battles, handle supplies, and move armies across a tactical map… all of which will have lasting effects on what happens in the future of the campaign. This is a chance for people to get together, try out the WW2 style games, and have a good time!
Since this is a WW2 weekend, YOU MUST DRESS THE PART! Although this event is open to the public, MODERN CLOTHING AND TACTICAL EQUIPMENT IS NOT ALLOWED! You will not be allowed to play and will be forced to stay in the safe zone if you do not have the correct clothing! This means that you can either show up in a full-blown WW2 impression (German or Russian is required to be fully involved in the campaign… but other impressions are acceptable to just participate) or as a Hiwi or Partisan volunteer (basically a civilian militia). You can easily pull the Hiwi/Partisan look off for only a couple of bucks by visiting your local second hand store (like a Goodwill or St. Vincent De Paul). You’re looking for solid slacks or wool pants, with a tucked in button up shirt, wool vest/sweater, or over coat/jacket with or without a cabbie cap or knit cap. You won’t be expected to look the part perfectly, but you have to at least try. Canvas pouches on a belt or just a shoulder bag can be used for your water/BBs/ extra gear. If your clothing looks like something your grandpa or grandma would have worn in the 1940s, then you are on the right track! Here are some examples of the Hiwi or Partisan look…

Although there are other WW2 events in the area that will be strict on the kinds of weapons players can bring to a WW2 event, the WW2 weekend at ABZ will be more lenient to introduce new players to the game style. Players can bring any gun they wish, but must remove scopes, red dots, grips, bipods, silencers, etc (anything modern added onto the gun). Participants are encouraged to bring a WW2 era gun or cover their modern gun in burlap or cloth strips, but it is not required to participate. The games will have ammo limitations; so don’t expect to be able to use all your hi-caps!
All participants must either sign an ABZ waiver or must have already signed one for an event during the 2008-year. This can be found below…
