GWAGs photos are so outstanding I'm reluctant to post mine. His tell the story so well. What's cool is the Germans were at a seperate camp so this gives those of us on the US side a chance to see in greater detail how they looked.
During the game they were typically a fleeting glance or spotted at a distance or singularly laying there as you moved through an area. I'm sure the same was true for the Krauts with respect to the US. Great pictures. I can't wait for next year.

Man, my envy meter is registering a full 9.9 right now. Especially since I missed meeting fellow Floridians at the event (I bet that the area was quite change from the Florida pine barrens they're used to. As I was born and raised in North Florida, I know it must have come as quite a shock for those who'd never been to this area). Great shots! I've always liked his photo skills, and the event made his work look even better! I like the formation shots near the top, really reminds me of the last episode of "Band of Brothers" where they're in Austria on occupation duty. It seems to me that with a great event like this and good photos to back it up, there's a good article for Airsoft International Magazine just waiting to be printed in there! I was shocked to see how wet it was, as it wasn't all that bad just north of there. The ironic thing for me was as much as I griped about missing this due to a prior commitment, in the end it was all for nothing anyway. I had to be on call at work on Sunday (the reason is a long, boring and confusing tale of a storm in a totally different state damaging one of my company's operation centers) and missed the event I'd committed to anyway. So in the end, for me it was best I didn't go as I would have had to load up my Jeep VERY early Sunday morning and split anyway.

I was one of the Floridians. It was just beautiful country. I was really struck by the mountains. Though I probably wouldn't be so hip come winter time. I hate snow!

The pictures from GWAG really did a great job of capturing the event. It was by far the coolest Airsoft event I had ever attended. The weather was quite nice on Friday and Saturday but really turned lousy Saturday night after everyone went to bed. By the time they were up at 2:30 AM for the night drop it was drizzling pretty bad and the fields were soaking wet. It rained hard on and off on Sunday but cleared up quite nicely when we struck camp. It's almost a week later and I'm still playing scenes from this event over and over in my head.
I can't wait for next year and I am sure this will become an annual event.

hahaha, I too am replying scenes in my head, the most scary incodent that happend to me was when I had a german fire a blank fire rifle right at me when I was like 10 yards away, that happend when they captured the jeep and started executing prisoners, I knew it was the end of the battle so I went all out and sacrificed my life to save those prisoners but took a very loud k98 to the heart.. -Eddie

I love the picture of you with the rosary. There were definitely some intense moments but the initial take off in the "aircraft" and night jump had to be the most exciting along with those first few minutes on the ground in the darkness trying to link up with your buddies and avoid the Kraut patrols. I for one found myself fully emmersed on many occassions and I have done two actual night jumps.

...thats the one, I think I might have been the only paratrooper praying with a rosery while we were in route for the jump. I plan on adding even more realistic features to my impression for next year, you boys will just have to wait and see.. one a different note, what did you guys do with all those "chili with beans" that were left over, it's funny cuz no one wanted to sh!t thier pants behind enemy lines, I think thats why no one wanted those rations.. lol..!! -Eddie

There were a lot of left over rations but since they are canned they will cycle to the next Battlesim event no doubt. When I got home all the rental uniforms and started cleaning them up and putting them away I had to check the pockets for food and it's really good that I did. Some pretty gross stuff in there after the heavy rain soaked it all up!
Yuck! You praying with the rosary in the aircraft must have been a cool effect for the other guys in your stick. Course it was so dark back there I wonder if anyone noticed!

..oh they noticed all right.. I offered the guys in my stick the rosery for a little while so they can pray as well, but I shouted "I HAVE A ROSERY IF ANYONE WANTS TO BARROW IT"!! but all that was heard was complete silence.. -Eddie

They are an excellent replica. They are padded molded rubber hence can be thrown. Streamers can be pulled from the base which accomodates their recovery. The Airsoft Group (The REGIMENT made them. They have a company sideshowcollectables and can probably be contacted through one or the other. Whether or not they are interested in making them commercially is anyones guess.

Hellmutt posted some awesome video on the Battlesim sight under the Jump to Destiny thread. There are some shots from the Jump training and camp scenes for US such as Mail Call. I'm sure there will be more coming. This absolutely has to become an annual event. It's been two weeks now and I still can't get it out of my head. I'm having Jump to Destiny withdrawals.
Without question the coolest event I've ever attended.
