When I get the money I'd like to buy a M2 carbine and put a paratrooper stock on it, but does anyone know if M1 carbine mags work in M2 carbines and where to find some M1 mags?

The m1 mags are completly different gas systems then the m2 mags. So no they will not work.

Yep, there's really no hope whatsoever to get a 15rd style magazine in the M2's. Only the 30rd style works in them. There were rumors about a 15rd style magazine but I doubt they'll be out any time soon. If ever.
If you really want it to be WW2 authentic, I'd get one of the older style marushins (probably used) and use that as a base gun. Also, you don't necessarily NEED an M1A1 stock for a paratrooper impression, many unit's didn't recieve any. General Gavin of the 82nd AB actually tried to ban them!

Do you know where to get extra M1 carbine mags? Why did Gen. Gavin want to ban them?

Why did Gen. Gavin want to ban them? I believe it was because, during the invasion of Sicily, the moment he tried to fire his carbine, it jammed, and he deemed them worthless. I know he personally carried a Garand for the rest of the war, and did in fact try to ban them.

Actually due to how rare and that its almost immpossible to find hard it is to find extra mags for a M1 carbine, I think I'm going to consider getting a M1 Garand. I already have a Thompson but when I went to the Mignano Gap game, every Allied guy had one except for 3 guys with BARs.

Yes your right, Thompsons are over used because there cheap and common. An M1 Garand would be an excellent choice. It was the most common weapon in WWII. If you get one I suggest you get it from 2nd Bat. You could go for the Marushin SI M1 Garand, but I think 2nd Bats M14 AEG Conversion is 10 times better.
