Pot metal is hard to fix, I dont know if you can weld it at all as I think it will simply melt, and adhesives dont hold it at all either. I have had several pot metal parts that broke on guns and have tried fixing them as well but with no success.

ive had the best luck with using Marine-tex.
its a two component mixture that you can put metal dust into to make it stronger.
ive fixed bandsaws, tool benches, even a vice using marine-tex

wow thats way too small for a welder to be used on. I also have used the glue deacon2ad has talked about and it does work. But again the issue of longevity has been an issue and while I have had it work for me, I have also had the part I used the glue on come off at a latter date.
I personally have stopped fixing parts and have started to replace broken parts becuase of the issue of how long the part will last after it has been fixed.

can you take a pic of the part? I may be able to mill something and ship it back for nothing if it is easy.

elder you can get marine-tex at usually any watercraft store or home depot. i suggest just buying online to save the hassle of making phone calls to 10 different stores

I have fixed many broken pot metal parts by reinforcing them with metal pins or straps. If there is room you can actually screw another flat piece of metal to the outside of it (as well as JB weld or some other glue) if there is no room around it then I would drill holes or cut grooves into it then use metal pins to span between the broken parts, Making bends in the pins can also help hold things together.
Glue by itself will not last long but can work well to hold the pins in place.

You could always try to solder it and then strap it as Schmitty has said. That usually works for me.

umm, neither of those would work on something like that. Tommy, a metal like this could me welded with a TIG welder, as those have settings for welding aluminum and metals of that type.
