Has anyone tried pulling an SS Fallschirmjager impression? As there was 2 kompanies attached to otto skorzeny's 150th panzer brigade during the ardennes offensive.

Nope, but its not much different than a reg FJ. You still wear a standard jumpsmock but the reg SS wools under. Helmets are plain with SS decals and the "heavy" Y-straps.

Hmm.
And as far as Fallschirmjagers, did they wear padded winter reversible parkas and trousers?

Yep mostly Heer pattern, both mouse gray and splinter. I have a mouse grey parka.

Do you ever wear yours while playing?
And if you do decide to wear it while playing, would it be worn with the trousers over the jump smock or without the jump smock?

I wore mine last longwinter when my jumpsmock got soaked. You wouldn't wear a jump smock with the parka. I wore mine with just a service shirt on under it and I was still pretty warm. I got mine custom made from dawlong on ebay. As all the other makers they were way to big.
But these were made for russian winters. You would still wear your wools under it. But here it doesn't get that cold. I wore mine snowshoeing with a sweater on under it and I was soaked afterward. Both from sweat and being wet.

I could be of some help to you starks. I do both a 12th SS and SSFJ impression. SS FJ were given: Standard Infantry field gear save for the bandolier and grenade bags Trousers would be model 38 or model 40 FJ jump trousers Tunics would be SS models without cufftitles, most SS FJ took them off Type 3 splinter B smocks were prevalent. You see some type 3 Tan and water smocks as well. Some SS soldiers took the LW insignia off their smocks but, some left them as well Boots were mostly GJ mountain boots or lowboots with socks rolled instead of gators. FJ boots are seen very rarely Helmets and dark field grey with NO Decals at all. You see LW 2nd pattern decals only in training excercises. Absolutely No camouflage paints or helmet covers. Helmet nets were oftenly worn If you need help on your 12th SS impression. Contact me! Im in the center.

Any source on SSFJ in the Ardennes? I know 2 12thSS (I think it was them) jumped with Von Der Heydte.
There also some photos of them in SS camo.

The SSFJ where members of the 500/600 battalion . A total of 3,00 to 3,500 men served in the battalion from one time to another , by the time the war was over 180 had survived unscathed. Two companies from the 600 Battalion where temporarily attached to Otto Skorzeny's 150th Panzer Brigade for the Ardennes Offensive .

Here's a pic of the survivors from the 600 battalion companies that took part in the Ardennes Offensive as they return to their home base And a pretty cool pic of a 600 Battalion member wearing DOT44 camo( not a DOT44 jump smock by the way )

Awesome SSFJ pics.
So, I just found an old jump smock I bought at battlesim awhile back ago. And I definetely think it's Splinter A. And I was just wondering, do Fallschirmjagers even wear Splinter A, especially since theirs a Splinter B?

Splinter A is incorrect and was Heer. Having said that the two are hard to tell apart. You can tell if you hold them side by side. I have seen many reenactors wear Splinter A but most try and buy the correct Splinter B. An exacting correct smock can be expensive, but is very good quality. If you want to wear what you have now and save up for the correct one since you already have this one that is up to you.

To the "untrained" eye its hard to tell...but you get the hang of it. I can just glance at smock and tell you if its A or B - post it up and I can tell you.

Uniform combinations, SS camo and black Panzer pants and Splinter camo with British(?) pants. Also , even tough this are obviously Heer tank commanders , one of them has a custom made wss camo jacket.

Not sure those are British trousers, unless they have custom add the pocket to the right leg.

The pocket flap on the pants looks a bit like the ones on Luftwaffes tropical cotton pants but those only have one pocket on the left leg..some ultra rare custom bit maybe!

Pretty righteous picture.
Since we are mentioning the ardennes here and there, I had quick question. Did the Feldgendarmerie even see combat, if any, while in the ardennes?
