Online can be good if you use the American rifles with American pistols and so on for the Germans, Russians, and Japanese..
But using the PTRS-41 ( Fake? Prototype? ) with the Nambo and M2/2 flamethrower is just ruining the game for yourself.
Yeah, I always wondered about the PTRS. I'll have to look it up. It's only a game, so it's okay to do that. I just try not to let myself get too Flaggrantly Wrong with excersizes that counter turning into a gaming farb.
If anyone was wondering, here it is:
In the years between the World Wars, the Soviet Union began experimenting with different types of armour-piercing anti-tank cartridges. Finding the 12.7x108mm insufficient, they began development of what would become the 14.5x114mm armor piercing round. Famous Soviet weapons designers such as Vasily Degtyaryov and Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov designed rifles to accommodate this cartridge. In 1938, Simonov designed the PTRS-41, a magazine fed, anti-tank rifle with a scaled down version of it becoming the SKS rifle.
The five round clip was loaded into the receiver and held under pressure by a swing magazine under the receiver. On firing the last round the bolt is held open, and the magazine release catch can only be operated when the bolt is locked back. The PTRS is gas operated. It has a tendency to jam when dirty, and the 14.5 mm cartridge produces significant residue, blocking the gas port. The 14.5 mm armour-piercing bullet had a muzzle velocity of 1012 m/s and good ballistics. It could penetrate an armour plate up to 40 mm thick at a distance of 100 meters. History The rifle entered mass production in 1941 and was widely used on the Eastern front in World War II. While it was heavy and had a terrible muzzle flash, it was a cheap and simple weapon, thus ensuring its place in the Soviet arsenal. It performed well against early German tanks, but was more useful in attacking supply trucks and other soft-skinned vehicles once the armour thickened on the German tanks.
Last Stand isn't in some cases, but the Second Chance part is. If you got shot in the stomach: a) morphine wouldn't do sh*t and would probably kill you due to it lowering your heart rate (that's what you give to the wounded in the game), b) You would need a medic, a Field Hospital and a trained doctor and then you might make it.

well the thing that pisses me off about it is that I use bolt action rifles, Somehow I got good with them, annnnd the second chance and Juggernaut makes it 2 shots. Which is very aggrevating. Shooting someone who doesnt die and then kills u with a pistol while you slide the bolt back just sucks
Use Stopping Power. The one thing I can't beilieve I was just playing, using my PTRS on Roundhouse. I shoot a kraut in the chest and he doesn't die! Let's review: I shot a guy in the chest with an anti-tank rifle (armor piercing rounds!) and he's fine.
Unless I'm flaming someone, my posts play no role whatsoever in the initial conversation.
Yeah, the Live on this is pretty lame. They definitely need to make an update for it. There's glitches that should have been fixed in pre-release that are in the game, and the overall unbalance level is pretty high. And all the noobs are left over on COD4 and that is now not fun to play. I'm usually on Gears now or the HALO WARS demo (which is really good) because there isn't much else to play.

I don't think they should do a future. There are already a lot of Sci-Fi games, we shouldn't transform one of the only good historical franchises into another Quake or Halo. I think, after Call of Duty 6 (Modern Warfare 2), they should do something like Korea or Vietnam. That would be a lot of fun, and the maps for Vietnam could have endless possibilities as to just making arrays of trees with a village, the Embassy, Khe Sahn, and so on. Korea would be a unique game alone, seeing as not many people even know about it [hence "The Forgotten War", which would probably be a good name for the game].
Dracul: It looks like it lost a lot of steam and I now feel bad for randomly dropping off.

stuka: I mean it's not your fault. It is interesting though that things are falling off as we are finally getting our ww2 guns with the type 38/96 and the enfield as well as it recieving a new loading system, it's kind of unfortunate

Dracul: I don't know, maybe its because all the guns are becoming available, there is a decreasing need for the forums.

Dracul: Most of the talk was about making guns, as all the uniform info was already out there, but now the weapons are out there and are usually decent quality.

stuka: well the forum is and should still be useful for updates on guns, creating groups/events and building kits

Cpl. Hicks: I haven't been here in years, but I'm glad to see this forum is still kicking! So much great info on here.

savoy6: anyone know if anyone still carries the enfield?

Dracul: I think Redwolf has a Enfield. If not or not longer, then not until G&G releases theirs. The old gas Iron Airsoft brand SMLE isn't carried by anyone anymore and was such piece of crap. Not worth trying to track one down.
