I was wondering if there are any Axis groups based out of Massachusetts. I live in Eastern MA, and would love to get out to some WWII events. If there is nothing, I'd be interested in starting a Massachusetts Heer unit, although I'm still very much a farb.
Thanks.

I realize this was posted almost 1 year ago, but no harm in trying... im looking to get into a German unit, but all i have right now is a modern rifle and gear. i could probably be ready by the end of winter, was planning on getting the WE luger as backup anyway, now i'll have to find a quality Sg44. I'd also prefer to wear a bit of camo, a smock and/or helmet cover, but not necessarily SS. I had no idea some players were so strict regarding authenticity - up until a few weeks ago, I had intended to get by on regular flektarn BDUs w a bit of WWII dot or splinter mixed in... I'm from the Springfield area, western Mass

Hi All,
I noticed that you all are from Massachusettes. I am in a reenacting group but we do blank fire. I am also getting into airsoft though and I am from northeast Connecticut. What are you looking in for portraying? Are you trying to go "hard core"? I have a good amount of info history wise but I don't know much about the airsoft guns yet.
What I can say is this:
I portray a late war soldat with basic gear. My kit consists of the following
M42 feldgrau helmet M43 field cap M38 overseas cap M43 tunic with trousers low boots with leggings heer belt and buckle Y-straps bread bag mess kit canteen a-frame a-frame bag zeltbahn bayonet e-tool k98 pouches esbit stove butter dish fork and spoon kit M42 trench coat flash light rucksack gas mask canister soldbuch period money, replica photos, period coins
As for camoflauge I reccomend if you want to use it try and stay as little from it as possible. Parkas are good and still authentic even though they are camoflauge. Helmets depending on what you want to use it also a mix. I have mine feldgrau but I cover it with dirt and have an old inner tube to use as a strap to hold foliage for my helmet. What you are trying to portay is huge in differences. The SS used many types of camoflauge and its not neccessary to have every guy have a camo cover for your helmet, tunic/smock, or trousers.

Hello all, I'm new to the list and can offer some info if anyone is interested. I run a WWII German re-enactment unit out of New England. I've been doing German for 22 years. I am very much looking forward to getting out there with you guys pretty soon. I have a uniform and gear. All I need is a weapon. Thanks. Kern
