Is Spearhead any good anymore? I know that his Splinter B smocks are great, but I have heard that he has gone down a similar path as HK-Keith. As in, he isn't sending the right products to you, if he sends any at all.
What are your experiences with them?
I would love it if you would list what you have purchased from him and your opinions on both the products and his customer service.

I ordered several things from him a little over two months ago. Everything was delivered very promptly and was good quality, except that the Blue FJ k98k bandoleer I got was not, made correctly. Many of the snaps on the pouches were not set properly and what was worse the snaps for the inside pouches came though the outside pouches, pinching them off and preventing them from being used. He said he would replace it but I have not received a new one yet. I emailed him a few weeks back and he said "as soon as the factory was done making winter uniforms, he would send a replacement"
We'll see.....I do hope he doesn't go the way of HK Kieth!!

With many of the Chinese manufacturing sites closed permanantly due to the economy and vendors closed temporarily for the Chinese new years, Spearhead is about the only game in town right now. I recently recieved a 'field made' camo tunic in less than two weeks, but my rabbit fur Eastern front hat just arrived and it took a month. I've done a lot of business with Spearhead over the last few years and the service has definately gotten slower. BUT, the product line has also been greatly expanded. If the items are made locally in Singapore, they probably ship pretty quickly. If they are coming from China or elsewhere, there may be some supplier issues that are causing the delays.

Everything I've ordered from Spearhead has arrived in 10 days or less, and been exactly what I ordered. In fact, I got my last order two days ago. I even ordered the wrong size tunic, ordered another one explaining my mistake to him and telling him I'd keep the first one anyway, he knocked 20% off second tunic. The most likely cause for the increased delay is he's getting well known, thus the workload has increased. He just needs to realize that we don't mind waiting for an item if it's not in stock, we just want to know UP FRONT that we're going to be waiting! Yes, Barry has been solid for me. Let's all hope some evil Hollywood conglomerate doesn't buy all his stock and then stiff him on the bill!

I have ordered a number of things from Spearhead and have always been pleased. In my opinion, his quality and attention to detail have improved recently as well. I actually get the feeling he is paying attention to what reenactors want. I find his prices quite fair and the selection has become in many ways second to none. I have ordered a couple tunics from him and have been pleased with his measurements that he lists. They are usually spot on. In the past, if there was ever a mix up or if I ordered the incorrect size, he has always been more than happy to accomodate me. Shipping times are pretty reasonable and he does combine shipping when you order multiple items. I simply have never had him leave me high and dry when it comes to questions or issues. I can't, however, say the same for many other US based or China based vendors. In addition, if you are in need of a custom size or something larger than what he normally carries, he does usually do custom work as well. A friend of mine had this done for a larger sized tunic/trousers and in a matter of a couple weeks, they were ready. Plus, he simply charged his standard rate for the tunic rather than some insanely higher amount since it was customized. His wool tunics, trousers, etc. are made of a wool mix that is simply softer than originals or higher quality repros. That being said, I don't usually mind, because the are still very well made, look good, and are considerably more comfortable; especially when you're running around in the woods with BB's flying around. I have no complaints with Barry and can only recommend his products. I look forward to doing plenty of future business with him.

I purchase 2 US airborne uniforms, he was out of stock of the extra pockets he supplys with them, i found this out after the uniforms arrived, when i asked him he said i could have a free helmet cover and airborne cap, he sent them out prety fast free of charge, i was extremely please, he is always helpful and happy to set things right, i probably wasn't going to use the pockets anyway so the extras was a bonus.

Yes it is on eBay. It sells chinease WWII reproductions. There US Items are generally bad except for maybe there jump suits. There German Items are ok but I wouldn't get any of there wool tunics.

Not a website but an e-Bay store. stores.shop.ebay.com/Spearhead-MilitariaI have gotten many items from him. His camo FJ smocks are the best for the price. Everything I've gotten from him has come quickly, in many cases much quicker than some vendors deliver, who are just a five hour drive from me. The only time I have been dissatisfied was with an FJ bandoleer that I got that he has promised to replace. He has a very wide selection too!
