iirc, duck camo is different than the issued frogskin uniforms, and to get those ATF and WWIIImp both make them.
not sure what you mean by duce gear either
and the pic doesn't work either

I wouldn't use Call of Duty or any video game for that matter as a resource for an impression. -Nick

Interesting to note the M1928 Thompson with drum mag and the M1903 A1 Springfields with the Marines. The leggings appear to have more than the seven loop design I thought was a Marine Corp staple?

are those service shoes?
Some games are ok for uniform accuracy, but few(Brothers in Arms is very accurate) World at War is definitely not one of them

Decon you are close to being on the right track. Listen to Tommygunner, he has it about as close to it as anyone. Don't be afraid to READ up on it, I did for the last 20 years. Most of these guys are very well intended but need help. I would be more then willing to help you out with what I know and steer you right. Ask these guys who is a vet, I am! Semper Fi!

Heck take it from me even if you ask a vetrean from the 60s about gear and weapons we used back then we often know less than the anal reenactors. I sure as heck don't rememeber nomenclature or specific variations of gear available at various times. It makes me nuts when I get pestered with detailed questions about subjects that seem incredibly mundane or INANE about shades, patterns, pouches and weapons. Others may feel differently but most of my veteran buddies hate it.
I share this only so you'll be somewhat sensitive to the fact when talking to vets. Incidently I'm guilty of the same thing. I bought a pair of practically unissued boondockers from a Marine at a militaria show. They were his extra set in the final years of the war and had hardly been worn. They fit me, which is a plus. When I looked at them I noticed the soles were totally different on each. One was Army and one was Marine corp. He said that's the way he got em. He had never noticed the difference. I get asked about Tiger Stripe patterns and jungle fatigue patterns ad infinitum and it makes me nuts.

Anyone know what and if any gloves were USMC issued?

I was reading that they used gloves for when they descended the ropes into landing craft and paramarines might have been issued the paratrooper horse riding gloves but few if at all were ever worn in combat

Yes, the marines used them throughout the war, until they got Garands in 43 or 44.

workin on the Makin raid impression. not hard to do, the dark uniform I'm issued at work is kinda close to the 'pinks' as someone so eloquently put it. But we Jarheads call it KHAKI or Summer Dress, Tropical!!! LOL From what I can gather, everyhting that the Raiders used at Makin (2nd Raider Bn under Carlson) was the basic USMC issue except for a 'new lightwieght' pack which I'm still trying to research and I'm thinking it was the 41 and of course the Raiders stilletos and "Raider" knife which was a big blade Bowie knife. What kind of gloves did the Marines wear? Leather, if available. Usually not used though. I agree with 2ndBat, I have no recolection of exact nomenclature of gear I was issued. To me, the dang steel pot was a steel pot and I have no idea what kind of liner or chin strap I had!! LOL As long as it looks "close" you won't hear this vet complain one bit!!! LOL Couple of things to remember, is that not all Marines used a suspender set. It became more prevelant in the later part of the war, but not always in the early days. Also, I think it's been mentioned before, but the Corps would always somehow get Army gear also. You'll see Devil Dogs wearing army equipment all over the place, and it'll be green, not necissarily khaki as some people seem to think. So, if you've got an army impression, the basic gear could also be used to start a Marine impression also.

the v44 collins bowie was gotten after makin. The original 1000 were issued for guadalcanal. After that their use becomes sporadic as stores are replenished from both the factory and US army aircorps stock via company funds or direct acquisition/trade. The crappy leather sheath got them lost alot in the undergrowth so they went through quite alot of them. The aluminum handle ones were issued late in the war but not to the raiders. A Ka-bar or M1 bayonet is the best, most likely, example of a knife any marine had with them.
