Hey guys I need an M1 Garand stock to be traced on paper. I need it because I am making a custom M1 Garand stock and want the most correct shape possible. Something like this. If anyone could trace theirs and send it to me I would really really appreciate it. Thank you so much! ~Thomas Pawlowski

Yes sir! I am making it from Oak. I'll cut it into two halfs to make the hollowing easier. After I am done hollowing it out I'll wood glue it back together and fill in the seams with epoxy.

I think you are completely dellusional if you think you can actual do this but as you stated in your PMs (at you're age you have plenty of time) If you're going to do it I highly recommend you attempt it in Walnut as the shaved tolerances will be very very thin. If you PM me with your address I'll do an exact tracing on a complete Garand stock and mail it to you. Are you done with your conversions yet? ? It's been a year? Time for us to start hearing and seeing things you've done NOT stuff you're planning to do. Otherwise we'll have to bust you back to private.

Thank you I'll be sure to use Walnut and I'll post my process on the stock as soon as I get to work on it. Please don't get me wrong, I'll tell the whole story. I got the M14 for my Birthday which was September 3rd. Our Dad didn't want us to do the project our selfs mainly because we didn't have any experience in custom airsoft guns and he didn't want us to screw up a project that we'd just spent over $150 on. My Dad doesn't have a whole lot of time so we didn't get far for a while. My dad said we could try doing it our selfs and then we made up fast for lost time. By less then a month we had it all fitted together as you see in the pictures I posted in December. However we ran out of sanding disks for our dremel tool. In our house having 9 kids its pretty busy and our mom didn't have time to take us to the store and get new sanding disks. She finally got us out to the store to get the disks and we got them. When we got home we saw that the screw which holds the attachments in place was gone. I tried going to the hardware store to get a new one but couldn't find the right size. We tried going onto sears to get a replacement part but our tools so old they didn't have one. So about a week after Christmas our Uncle came over and he said he knew a place by his house that probably would have the screw and that he would try to get it for us. So yesterday(Saturday Feb 13) He got the screw to us, and I have again began work on my M1. And as you know our M14's are broken and we will be getting new ones from a Hong Kong vendor. I am using the cheapest shipping so it will take about 3 months to get here. Well thats the story. I'm sorry.

Where are you ordering your M14s from? 3 month shipping sounds like a good way to loose a gun. Try airsplat. They have the cheapest prices for CYMA m14s, and if you spend over $150 you get free shipping. www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-CYMA-CM032W.htm

Well I've heard too many bad things about Airsplat to buy their. I am getting them from ROSV. The reason is their the only place I know of that has the Shot guns mags. They have 7 day shipping but its much more expensive.

I've ordered from Airsplat and never have had any problems. RSOV is fine, but I wouldn't trust three month shipping. It's not worth the risk.As for mags, I would just save up your money and buy them from 2ndBat (if he is still selling them?) Its amazing how such a little thing can drive up your HK shipping prices.

Lol no it isn't that bad although fist fights do occur ;D. I am the 3rd Oldest, I have my older brother Dave who is 15 and my older sister. So I am in pretty much control of the younger kids . PS good luck on your M1 Garand project hope it goes faster then mine.

I'd probably have it by mid june. I may just leave it after that and later get the short mags, and a better stock afterwards.

I grew up in a family of seven kids and my father was one of 13. Large families are rare these days . I was busting your chops but the fact is I admire your enthusiasm and stick-to-itness. I warn you that attempting to make your own stock with the interior work is extremely hard and unlikely to be successful but I hope you manage it. PM me with your address and I will send you the tracing. The upper rim is slightly different however for the right side then the left side.

Thank you I PMed you the address. One Question, do you think it would be easier to cut it in two half's or just to keep it one piece? Thanks again.

It isn't going to be easy no matter what you do. I mailed you an envelope with the outline as best I could do it. Good luck. Incidently just out of curiosity what have you been able to buy a blank chunk of Dark Walnut large enough to do a stock for?
I think you're going to discover it's an expensive piece of wood to start whacking away at.

For a quality chunk of Dark Walnut I think you are going to be in for a shock. It is definitely not something you will feel comfortable hacking away at.
