March 7th and 8th Airsoft Event Number Confirmed: 15Well its that time again, time to have another event!!!! It will be a two day long event spanning Saturday (7th) to Sunday (8th). Everyone is to arrive Saturday morning by 8:00am, we start the event at 12:00. Camp set up and pictures are schedualed in there as well. The event will wind down Sunday around mid afternoon. There are two days worth of skirmishes set up and we will have a variety of weapons for use which include an actuall working airsoft M1917 Machine gun!!!! This is simply gonna be a fun lets get together and shoot eachother event. I think we can all agree that the we need this event quite badly. The basic rules for the event will be that we try not to paint soft lol. Lets try and use reall tactics and take the games slow and not spray and pray with our guns. Other than that this event is simply meant for us to all get together and have fun. Medic rules will be explained before we start. Ammo limits will be enforced!!!! I want to set up tents and such again like we did at our last game. It would be neat to set up two camps as well, one American and one German on opposite ends of my property. Should the weather be too cold to sleep out in I say we simply stay in my heated garage for the night. BRING CAMERAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! before we even start playing I want to get pictures!!!!! we need lots of pictures to put up on the boards to promote the Illinois extension. This will be a fun event guys Im looking forward to it, this is the first of many steps we need to take to get back on our feet again. Those if you that have been at the last game know the property we will be using, for anyone new who wants to attend understand that the property is not massive but lends itself to nice semi compact fighting for skirimsh line battles and such. The smaller space creates a great enironment for having to use good suppression tactics and group movement. Also BRING NEW SIGNED WAIVERS FOR THE 2009 YEAR!!!! This is a WW2AA event and I need everyone to print those waivers out again. Once they are printed and signed they are good until the end of the year. You can find the link to waiver here: www.gordak.com/ww2aa/partinst.htmEVENT LOCATION!! Send me a PM if you are interested in comming and need to know where it will be held at. I will then send you the location for the event. 111 Timbercreek Drive East Yorkville, Il, 60560MGW and ISA TommyGunner

Here is a taste of what two of the skirmishes will be.
This one is called "Hold until Relieved!"
The object of this skirmish will be for a defending force to hold a certain area for a pre determined length of time. It will simulate a group of defenders holding off an attacking force until reinforcements arrive.
(There will be small twists thrown in during the heat of battle that will benefit the defenders)
The Defenders will have a limited amount of ammo at their disposal as well as a limited amount of times each player can respawn. Once each defending player has been killed or the position overrun before the marked time the game will end. If the defending players team has at least one person left and their position has not been overrun when time runs out the defenders will win.
There however is a flip side to the game that will make it difficult. The attacking force has only one objective and that is to eliminate all the defending players before time is up. The attacking force will have unlimited respawns for each player and unlimited ammo (any guns with high caps will be on semi auto only) To simulate waives of attackers once an attacking soldier is hit he must return to his respawn point and wait for at least 2 other players to join him in returning to the fight.
Another taste of a Skirmish is the one called "Supply Drop"
In the middle of the open portion of the property there will be large supply containers simulating supplies dropped to one of the two sides. The object is not only to determine who the supplies belong too but also to prevent them from falling into the enemies hands. (there will be fun surprises in this one as well)
Each team will start on either end of the property and each soldier will ony be allowed to carry a certain amount of ammo ( a low amount to simulate the team being low on ammo) The object will be to first determine if the supplies are for you or the enemy. Only after calling this in ( Via walkie talkie, and then confirming it) will either team be allowed to advance they are not allowed to leave their assigned locations. Orders will be given at the event as to how to counter act enemy movement during this skirmish.
Once a container is taken it must be brought back to their starting position and the supplies must be distributed ( people will retrieve ammo and such). However the opposite team may be allowed to attack during the resupply time so holding your area is key. At this point the only way for the team that has not retrieved the container to win is to eliminate the newly resupplied team. The team that has retrieved the container must then hold out for a pre determined length of time against the enemy or until all the enemies respawns are gone.
There are several more like these, each one is designed to be played out over a long period of time. They will be further elaborated upon at the event.

This Skirmish is shorter one but is all time and tactic based.
This one is called "MAN DOWN"
There will be a person placed by a tree in the open part of the property with no weapon to simulate a man that has been hit in no mans land. The objective for the team who the "Man Down" belongs too is to try and retrive him from no mans land before the enemy does. If the enemy retrives the man in no mans land before his team can get to him them must take him back to thier camp and hold him there for a pre determined length of time in order to win. However each side will only have a certain number of respawns per person. There are two eays for the enemy to win, the first is to capture the Man Down and then hold him for a predetermined length of time, or elimenate the oposing team before they capture him.
Here is the flip side, the enemy has the option of killing the prisoner. This will result in the other team loosing!, however the team that captures the prisoner will loose as well since they did not complete thier objective. This is for when most of the your team is killed and the enemy is about to capture thier man back, whoever is left can kill him and cause the other team to loose

People are encouraged to stay the night as there are some fun night opertations planned as well. (along with a just for fun one which is TBA at the event)
Here is one of them " Link Up"
This will be a great night game. One of the teams will be split in two and one half placed in a hiding spot. The friendly team will be given thier exact location while the enemy has no clue as to where they are at. The team placed in hiding is nto allowed to move from thier spot until the friendly team has made contact with them. If this is achived they are to then eliminate the enemy force.
The object for the friendly team is to retrive thier squad mates and being them back to enemy lines. The enemies objective it to locate the stranded squad and eliminate them, and then to eliminate the friendly forces.
The squad that is seperated from thier team mates do not get any respawns but are allowed to carry a slightly larger ammo load. The friendly team sent to retrive them will have a set ammount of respawns per man, the same goes for the enemy.
The friendly team will win if they are able to retrive at least one man. The enemy will win if they are able to eliminate the stranded squad and eliminate the searching team.

Here is another Night game
This one is called "Intel"
This game will rely entirely on stealth and squad tactics. In each camp there will be an envelope that will be used to simulate intelligence. It will be the objective of the other team to obtain the envelope and bring it back to camp. Because the entire skirmish is designed for stealth there are two main objectives to complete in order to win the Skirmish.
The team attempting to retrieve the envelope must not only retrieve the Intel but also in order to win make the attempt to retrieve it in the stealthiest manner possible. The team trying to get the Intel must surprise the enemy, if they do not they will loose. There is one optional objective however. Should a team blow their cover and thus loose the element of surprise they may still win by not only capturing the Intel but also capturing the a prisoner as well.
On the flip side the team defending the Intel must complete only one objective to win. They must prevent the capture of the Intel until all the enemies respawns have been used.

Here is yet another Skirmish we will be playing.
Link up "Viva La Resistance!!!"
This one is another cool event that can be either played during the day or night, its better played at night though lol.
US forces operating in the area have been informed that there is a French Resistance Fighter that has valuable information for the allies. He has hunkered down in a safe location and is waiting for a team of allied soldiers to link up with him, retrieve the intel from a safe spot and get him back behind enemy lines to the rest of his fellow resistance fighters.
This is the only scenario in which the Germans and Americans can not switch roles.
The objective for the Americans is to locate the French Resistance fighter and then follow him to where he has stashed the intelligence. Once the Americans have linked up with the French Resistance fighter and located the stashed intel they must bring him back to camp and debrief him and determine if the intel is good or not ( there is another objective that must be completed here but it will be explained during the scenario)
After the intel has been analyzed the Americans must then escort him to a way point to complete the mission.
The Germans have their own objectives to complete as well. They have been informed that there is a resistance fighter in the area and are given orders to capture him.
The Resistance fighter does not get any respawns. Once he is dead the mission is over.

Here is an Update on some specifics for the event.
Weather:
Everyone needs to dress for cold weather, the temperature should be aroudn the 50 degree mark but DO NOT UNDERDRESS!!! remeber that the temperature could change and that it will be colder at night during out night skirmishes.
There is a possibility of rain, please bring any rain gear that you have I also have plastic garbage bags to wear under jackets to water proof anyone who needs it (this works great!) I will also have the heater in my garage turned on so we can dry up and warm up if we need too but this I belive wont be a problem.
FOOD:
As always please bring food to eat!!!! Bring canned foods and bread to eat. We will probably create a convoy to Mc Donalds for Lunch after a few skirmishes. For dinner in the event that its nto raining I have a large grill we can cook things on so BRING ANYTHING YOU CAN COOK ON A GRILL!!!! in the event we cant use the grill we can hit up Mc Donalds again.
Of course should people be able to bring enough food to satisfy them for lunch and dinner we will have the ability to eat in camp as well.
This is turning out to be a great event!! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Alright the event is tomarrow guys!
Looking at the forcast we are looking a nice temps around 50-55 degrees based on the differnt weather sites I have been on. There is a chance of rain with at the most 1/2 of precipitation that we will see latter on in the day.
I have made provisions for the weather. I have a very large heated garage and basement ( my work shop) in which to stay in if the weather becomes a concern ( which I doubt it will) so we have a nice warm dry area to be in.
We should have a great event! looking forward to seeing you all there!

Hey you guys that didn't make it you missed a good one! As stated the weather was good to the point of being authentic. We did get alittle rain and the temps were in the upper 40's very much like Europe! After some work on the 30 we had it working. Only two GI's and four of those cheese eaters.

I had a blast! Thanks so very much to everyone who came out. The level of sportsmanship was amazing as well.
Each side used lmited ammo and tactics which really made the event. The rain that turned soo many away from a great event was spurratic but not all that bad or heavy. It deffinatly added alot to the war atmosphere as well.
We had two allies and 4 germans and modified the skirmishes as such. The Allies had the M1917 which made up for the lack of guys on our side. The allies fielded a BAR, M1 Garand and M1928 Thompson, plus an M1917 MG between each skirmish.
The Germans fielded a Machine gun, mp-40s and bolt action rifles and all used great tactics to try and eliminate the Allies. They gave us one hell of a run during the games and broke our line more than once.
Thanks again guys, Ill announce the next event soon.

Hey guys we need to talk Jere into doing this again real soon. This time I want to stick around for the Zombie's! (Knew those SS guys were alittle more than crazy) Also I brought out Axis guns to use as well as GI, so no more modern guns. I will even bring out more BB's for everyone to dip into. So Jere lets do this again next month!
